What could be a better way to celebrate the longest day of the year than offering *FREE* yoga classes in the middle of Times Square! Well, Athleta paired up with Times Square Alliance to do just that at Solstice in Times Square: Athleta Mind Over Madness Yoga. And of course, I was there in a heartbeat! The event featured four yoga classes throughout the day with the first starting at 7:30 a.m. and the last at 7:30 p.m. Being the early riser I am, I attended the 7:30 a.m. class.
I have to say, practicing yoga in one of the busiest places on earth brought a whole new meaning to mind-body connection! Actually though, Times Square was eerily quiet at about 7 a.m. when I arrived to grab a spot for the class. Once the class started though more and more passerbys wandered around the perimeter, some on their way to work, others stopping to take in the spectacle!
And I have to say I felt very Zen heading to work after class! Can’t wait till next year!

Readers, how do you celebrate the long days of summer?
