Shake your booty with Buti Fitness!

Hey there fitness aficionados! So have I got some good news for you!  I tried a *BRAND SPANKING NEW* workout the other day!  You know how I am always looking for the next big thing and love trying out all different kinds of workouts, well I think we found gold here-Bizzie Gold that is!

That’s her BTW!

Bizzie Gold created this new fitness phenomenon called Buti Fitness.  It’s a hybrid between dance, yoga, plyometrics and conditioning.  And for those of you thinking you are going to be sitting around getting your om on, well think again!

I read about Buti Fitness recently in Shape Magazine and thought, now THIS could be interesting.  So I checked out the website and sure enough there were sample videos to try!

 

I have to say-it was a ton of fun!  The class started out seated and was very similar to a yoga class.  I then began noticing so dance inspired moves such as hip circles added in.

 

At first my heart rate didn’t get too high (about 100-120 bpm which is about the same as a vinyasa class) and I thought “hey, I got this.”  Um…then came the plyos!

 

Before long I was sweating up a storm and my heart rate reached up to 160 bpm!

 

I have to say that I was having so much fun, I barely even noticed how hard I was working. Well, until the next day that is when I was SUPER sore!

 

One of my favorite parts of the workout was its focus not only on cardio benefits but also toning and stretching.  As a dancer, I am kind of used to having these three components in one workout and I have to say, most programs are not able to combine all three, well Buti Fitness did!

So I have a new obsession and I am going to find out if I can try some more!  I’ll let you guys know how things go! 🙂
