Hey hey all! I’m trying to squeeze out the last few weeks of summer! I’m remembering all the traditions I have every summer and mentally checking off what I have and have not yet done! One tradition my family has had for the past ten years or so has been attending Red Sox games at Fenway Park in Boston. This year Pete and I went and cheered on our favorite team during our favorite American pastime (which is kinda funny since Pete is Australian!)
I love sitting in our seats, watching the game, having some snacks 🙂
Nothing means summer to me like watching a home game at Fenway!
One of the hardest things at the ballpark is staying healthy. All the snacks can be tempting and some of them are loaded with calories. I try to live by the motto “everything is good in moderation.” So I kept it short and sweet with a small pizza, which I split with Pete, and some Swedish fish (my weakness).
I love the energy and the traditions in the ballpark-like how a couple of people in the crowd start yelling “Let’s go Red Sox” and all of a sudden there is a cacophony of “Let’s go Red Sox” throughout! Or how around the 7th inning they always play “Sweet Caroline” and everyone sings! Or how Wally comes out and stands on the mound during the 7th inning stretch! You feel like a part of the Fenway community!
Luckily the Red Sox won!
What a way to spend a nice lazy summer day! 🙂
