September means the last weekends at the beach, cooler nights signaling the beginning of fall, back to school and National Yoga Month! National Yoga Month was designated by the Department of Health and Human Services as a month to educate people about yoga and a healthy lifestyle. You can even get free yoga classes by visiting Yoga Health Foundation and signing up! There are over 2,000 participating studios all over the country. You simply fill out a form and choose a studio near you to visit for one week of free yoga.
Looking for more free classes? Although Athleta regularly offers free classes, they are offering a full month of free classes and other special offers to celebrate the month of yoga love! Visit Athleta’ Yoga Month Calendar for details. Classes are available at Athleta stores nationwide.
If you are lucky enough to live near an Exhale Spa, they will be offering up some of their wonderful (and normally pricey) yoga classes for *free* on Thursday September 20th for their NamasDay celebration! Visit Exhale for details.
Finally, if you are just looking to get started in yoga and want to try it out without a commitment, check your local studios. Most studios offer specials for first time students such as a full week for the price of one class or an unlimited month of yoga at a discounted price. Check it out and see what you think! I guarantee you’ll love it. Check back with me later in the month to see what I’ve been up to in honor of National Yoga Month. Can I get an OM!?!?
In other news, congrats to Andy Murray who won his first Grand Slam title at the U.S. Open today and Serena Williams who won the Women’s Final yesterday!
