Hey everyone! Hope you have had an enjoyable weekend (and hopefully you are lucky and have tomorrow off as well!). So September was National Yoga Month, not October is National Pilates Month. No, not really, BUT it IS National Breast Cancer Awareness Month which means it is also Shape Magazine’s PIlates for Pink month!
Shape Magazine hosts this event which raises funds for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. It is a day of pilates classes, giveaways, games and more! One hundred percent of the class registration fee is donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Working out for a cause, what could be better?
Pilates for Pink is a tradition FitBritt and FitMom!
But not to worry, Pilates for Pink was HOT! A DJ was spinning tunes when we got there.
We decided to check out the booths!
First, we picked up our goodie bags 🙂
Then a free Breast Cancer charm from the Pandora Tent.
I got a *free* manicure! So awesome!
We then hit up the PopChips tent for some *free* goodies and to pay hommage to my fav teen queen!
Our first class of the day was Intermediate with re: AB Pilates.
The class was really amazing and my abs were SCREAMING by the end!!
(Rocking the pink!)
I loved the traditional pilates class. I felt so good afterwards-toned and stretched and ready for our second class . . . Mamma Mia!
Oh this was not your traditional pilates class!
Yes, those are two members from the Broadway Production of Mamma Mia!
Yes we did learn the choreography to Dancing Queen!
Yes it was totally outrageous!
And yes it was totally fun (and yes we totally worked our abs 😉 )
Here’s a look at all the loot we got in our goodie bags!
Shape did an awesome job raising money for a great cause. We always have a ton of fun at this event and the fact that it raises breast cancer awareness makes it all the better. Next year they should have free mammograms! If you want to learn how you can participate in Pilates for Pink and raise money for breast cancer awareness, check it out here!
