So I’m really really excited to tell you about a new development with my beloved Physique 57! A couple of weeks ago on Twitter I saw a tweet that said Physique would soon be posting online videos of their classes. Holy guacamole! I was so excited and now it is finally here! Physique classes online! Of course I wasted NO TIME trying them out!
The first class is Physique Cardio and is 26 minutes in length. The.class.was.awesome! It was just like their studio classes. There were options for beginners but this class really pushed you. Don’t let the cardio name fool you, there are plenty of squats and pushups (oh the pushups) to give you some toning benefits as well. But the cardio is definitely there, my heart rate was up! I probably averaged in the 150s-60s but it did spike to 170 at a few points. I really loved the emphasis on cardio and I could see pairing this workout with a toning class (thinking Physique 30 minute or Physique Booster DVD) or just doing it on its own. My calories burn was 257 for 26 minutes. Not too shabby! 🙂
The second class, Physique F.I.T. (Focused Interval Training), is 33 minutes long. This was also a really great class. Tanya Becker, co-founder of Physique 57, led this class. It was non-stop from the second we started until we stretched. Even though this was not technically a cardio class, my heart rate was definitely up and the toning moves definitely made me feel the burn! It was just like the NYC classes. My calorie burn for this class was 270!
You can rent the online classes for $5.00 and you get to keep it for 24 hours (if you are good you can get two days of workouts in this 24 hour period!). There is also an unlimited monthly option for $57. Also available online are Physique’s DVDs. I’ve talked about these before here. If you prefer the online format or you don’t have a DVD player then check the online version out. Great at-home workout!
