DVD Review- Jillian Banish Fat Boost Metabolism & *Giveaway*

You know I am a big fan of Jillian Michaels’ DVDs-they are quick and super effective. One of my favorites is Jillian’s Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism DVD. This is an absolute classic and burns tons of calories. Jillian uses her no-nonense demeanor and training style she became famous for on The Biggest Loser to bring us a no-frill, challenging workout.
The DVD is about 55 minutes total. Jillian begins with a 5 minute warm-up and then heads straight into the workout. The workout consists of 7 circuits with each circuit containing about 5 different moves which are performed one after the other and then the entire circuit is repeated. The circuits are a combination of kickboxing (Jillian’s roots), plyometrics and traditional aerobic moves like jumping jacks. Jillian focuses on repeating basic moves to elevate your heart rate. The first circuit after the warm-up is a nice introduction but by the second circuit, I was sweating like crazy. Luckily Jillian takes it to the mat in the fourth circuit for some ab work and a short recovery for your heart rate. Good thing because she takes up a notch in the remaining circuits. Jillian finishes off the DVD with a stretch section at the end-make sure you do this or you WILL be sore!
I love this DVD because there is absolutely no equipment required. I recommend a mat for the ab section but you can do without if necessary. Plus, the moves are so easy to follow yet so effective. It is an absolute must for any good DVD collection. As Jillian says, “This workout is no joke!” and it isn’t. You’ll see the results and thank me for telling you about it! 🙂

My resolution was to stick to my workouts and not skip any. Also to not binge in the weekends! So far this month I have stuck to those goals and have lost ten pounds!! I barely miss ice cream (loving froyo!) I’m almost done Phase 2 of Jillian’s Body Revolution and would love a different video to do for cardio when I’m needing something different.
