Happy weekend all! Yesterday, the hubs and I visited Brooklyn Boulders to climb with First Descents, an organization offering life affirming experiences for cancer survivors. We went to support my brother, who was also doing the climb in Boston where he lives. Although Brooklyn Boulders would not let us actually rock climb because we didn’t know how to tie the knots (Pete and I have only done a pulley system rock climbing before which is a lot easier), so we ended up just bouldering.
It was still a cool event and the hubs and I enjoyed supporting an organization with such a good cause!
I think we each climbed to the top about six times.
Although it doesn’t look that high, it was really high for not being harnessed in!
Going up was actually easier than trying to get down. That part was a little scary! Our forearms were so sore today. It’s a lot harder than you think!
After all that climbing, we obviously worked up an appetite, so the hubs and I headed to the famous Katz Deli (you know from When Harry Met Sally).
We indulged a bit on some Pastrami and Corned Beer sandwiches. I have to say that I much preferred the Pastrami to the Corned Beef and I’m pretty sure one sandwich would have fed us both! 🙂
Check out that plate of pickles!! We felt like such New Yorkers!
