Hey all! Now that you know which barre classes to take or what home barre workouts to buy and what moves to expect, all you need is to look the part! Today I’ll provide you with the hottest clothing and accessories look hot in your barre class and the equipment you’ll need for your at-home barre workout!
Add this Practice Freely tank to your Run Inspire Crops, also from Lululemon. The built-in bra will provide you with enough support but the tank overlay will give you the style!
The Surya Tank has a really awesome back, which is super cool and I love the sunny yellow! Lululemon, I love your colors!
I’ve seen Splits 59 at all the hottest barre studios but have not tried out the brand yet! I’m dying to get something. This Vail Cut Out Pullover is so cute for before and after class and it has this awesome cut out patter on the back.
To go along with your pullover, grab a pair of these Joan B. 3/4 Length Tights. I love the criss cross patter on the front, it reminds me of ballet slippers!
Also by Lorna Jane are the Essence Tights, I love the little tie down by the calf. They would work well in a barre class!
I must be on a yellow kick for spring! I love this Intensity top, it would be a perfect layering top over a tank until you get warmed up!
I loved the length and the ruching on this Breathe tank. It would look awesome in any barre class!
Most barre classes require you to wear socks to class but the problem with wearing normal athletic socks is that they are very slippery, especially on carpeted surfaces, which most barre studios have. So, the best type of sock you can wear is one that has rubber, no-slip on the bottom. I love these socks by Sticky Be Socks. They are beyond adorable and I love all the different colors! I want one of each!
If you want to really channel a professional ballet dancer in your barre class, try these Wrap shoes by Nike. They are across between ballerina and gladiator! These shoes offer a “barefoot experience” (not shown), customized support (shown above and achieved through the ribbon), and a protective barrier that is attached to the shoe and used when going from class to street! I’m intrigued.
Now that you look the part, it’s time to grab the equipment you will need for barre classes. Below is a list of the most often used equipment.
Dumbbells are essentially in every barre class for the arm section. You’ll want to ensure you have light weights (high reps with light weights are common in barre classes) but also some heavier weights to up the burn as you become stronger.
Aa you may know from watching my Learn the Moves segment, a playground ball is an essential for barre classes. You’ll use it to sculpt and shape your thighs and you’ll be amazed by how much this little ball can cause you so much pain!
Resistance bands are often used in barre classes, so its a good time to invest in some of these inexpensive but effective tools.
You’ll need a yoga mat for the ab section in any barre class you do. This is just a good investment for any form of exercise!
Now you’re ready to tackle any barre class! Enjoy the weekend!
