Hi all! Wow! What a nice weekend! I feel like spring is really here now that we’ve finally had a weekend of warm weather! I spent as much time as possible outside. Check out some photos from the weekend below!
On Saturday I hit up the Farmer’s Market in Union Square.
There were a ton of nice flowers and herbs but not much in the way of produce. I guess it’s still a bit early in the season!
So I purchased some fresh flowers and saved my cash for a future trip!
They are so pretty!
Sunday I headed out for a walk in the neighborhood and checked out all the awesome blooms!
It was definitely a flowery weekend! 😉
After taking in all the blooms, I headed out for my first bike ride of the season. It was so awesome to be back on my bike after a loooooong winter!
All the flowers, warm weather and outdoor time got me really excited for summer! So when I got home, I decided to sit down with my Coastal Living magazine (the irony of the fact that I live in one of the largest metropolises in the world not at all near the coast-East River doesn’t count!-is not lost on me!). Of course I needed to refuel after my bike ride so I prepped this totally delicious tropical smoothie.
1 pineapple Chobani Greek yogurt
Several pieces of canned pineapple and some of the juice
Several pieces of frozen mango
Fat free milk
– Place all ingredients in a blender (I kind of just estimated everything so I can’t give you specific measurements), blend until combined. It was like a trip to the Caribbean! Enjoy!
Anyway, my Coastal Living magazine has this great feature every spring called the 99 Days of Summer. It basically lists out an activity to help you celebrate summer for the 99 days between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
I was inspired by the article to adopt some of Coastal Living’s suggestions and incorporate them into my own list of summer activities. I love long, warm summer days and this is such a great way to get the most of the warmer months! I’m so excited to do all the items on my list! I am so glad I spent the time thinking about all the things I want to do this summer because I remembered a ton of things I’ve been meaning to try and just never get around to, you know what I mean! So check back here for updates on all the cool things I’ll be doing this summer!
Readers, do you like to make your plans ahead of time or do you wait until the last minute? What will YOU be doing this summer?
