Summer Reading List

Hey there!  We are only a few short days before Memorial Day and the official kickoff to summer!!  Woo hoo!!!  That means it’s time for me to get my summer reading list together.  On my list for celebrating the 99 Days of Summer this year is to create a summer reading list, which really isn’t hard because I love to read and nothing is better than sitting on the beach with a good book (just ask the Mom).  So without further adieu, I give you my Summer Reading List AND, for a bonus round, my Top Ten Favorite Books!

 Summer Reading List.001

1. Inferno by Dan Brown-I actually got a head start and am reading this already!*

2. And the Mountains Echoed by Khaled Hosseini

3. Bungalow by Sarah Jio– Already downloaded this one!

4. Call the Midwife by Jennifer Worth– I read the first book in this series and have downloaded the other other two remaining books to read.

5. Lean In by Sheryl Sandberg– I feel like this book is mandatory for every professional woman, if not for the advice it provides but for the discussion it sparks!  Notably, this is my only non-fiction because hey! this is beach reading!

6. The Storyteller by Jodi Picoult

7. Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks

8. The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

9. The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

10. Up for Grabs!  I wanted a list of ten books but I could not for the life of me find a tenth book that I wanted to read!  So this one is up for grabs.  Readers, leave your suggestions in the comments below!

Great list! I just got ‘And the mountains echoed’ today (I preordered it before the baby – not sure if it will ever be read lol). I 100% agree that Lean In is worth a read even if you don’t agree with her – great things to think about and discuss (and light enough to be beach reading). Great list, Britt!

Round house by Louise Eldrich is good (but a
    dark topic), too.

Oh thanks! I’m always looking for good suggestions. Let me know if you get a chance to read “And the Mountains Echoed” and what you think! Hope baby Nathan is doing well! 🙂

I, too, am looking forward to And the Mountains Echoed. I think Lean In is something we should all ready and ponder.
