Hi all! Happy Memorial Day! I hope you’ve had a fantastic long weekend! I love Memorial Day because it is the official kick off to summer! Unfortunately the weather we had this weekend was anything but summer weather! It was cold and rainy! Luckily things picked up a bit today and the sun came out and warmed us up a bit. Despite the weather, I managed to check off a few of the items on my 99 Days of Summer list and I managed to stay pretty fit and healthy most of the weekend. Of course there were a few indulgences 😉 Check out my photos from our weekend!
Saturday the hubs and I headed to Fenway for the Red Sox game.
I was convinced that we were going to get rained out but the game carried on despite the weather!
Everyone knows Boston fans are hardcore so there was no shortage on people at the game!
And of course we had to indulge in some Fenway fare: I went for a soft pretzel while Pete, of course, went for a sausage!
Soft pretzel goodness.
After the game we headed to my brother’s new house where my sister-in-law cooked up an amazing feast! We got a tour of their new pad and spent some quality time with the fam!
Sunday the hubs and I teamed up with my Mom for a round of golf. We got completely rugged up and braved the wind for 9 holes.
In the end we were rewarded with the sun (finally!) coming out!
We had the most amazingly delicious meal on Sunday night. I’ll provide you with the recipes later this week, but let’s just say it was healthy and delicious!
Today we finally got some warm weather and some sun so Pete and I headed to the local tennis courts for a round of tennis before traveling back home to NYC. We couldn’t have asked for a more fun-filled weekend!
Readers, what did you do this Memorial Day?
When you travel do you try to stay active and eat healthy or do you allow yourself some time off?
