Seven Day Detox Plan

Seven Day Detox Plan

Hi friends!  How is everything going with you?  I have to admit that last week was not the best week for me in terms of eating or working out.  I ended up missing three (!) days of workouts and eating out almost every single night.  I didn’t even buy groceries.  I know.  With all the goodness of summer, I’m feeling like I could use a little bit of a detox.  So I planned out a seven day detox to get my diet back on track, stay motivated to consistently workout, give my skin and teeth a little extra attention and give my mind some R & R.  I thought this would be a great way to welcome in fall and prepare for the change in season.
I hope you’ll follow me this week while I do a little bit of detoxing and feel free to follow along if you so please!  I’ll be instagramming/tweeting and otherwise sharing using the hashtag #FallDetox if you would like to play along!

So Day 1 of the Seven Day Fall Detox looks a little something like this:

FOOD

I started the detox at lunch with a fresh salad from Chopt.  It was a harvest salad with a combo of kale and spinach with apple, beets, goat cheese, walnuts and low-cal balsamic vinaigrette.  Unfortunately I kind of hated the saladโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ™  Oh well.  Dinner was better with Vietnamese fresh summer rolls and lemongrass chicken atop of vermicelli.  I also drank my vitamins with Skinnygirl Daily drinks!

WORKOUT

My workout gets an A+ for the day!  Turbo Fire 30 min plus Zumba means lots of calories burned plus some core strength worked in as well!

SKIN

I know you may think it’s kind of weird to include “face” as a detox category but I think looking after your skin is a huge part of the detox process.  With all the sunscreen I’ve been slathering on and the warmer weather making my skin a little bit oiler than normal, I think a good skin detox is a great way to welcome the crispier temperatures of fall.  Day 1 included use of Skin Prep Scrub.  It’s a grainer and harsher exfoliater that I tend to use only when my skin is clogged or oily.  It’s too harsh for me during the winter but right now, It’s exactly what the doctor ordered.

MIND

Day 1 was all about relaxation.  The Hubs and I took a walk and just chilled at lunch.  It’s nice to not have every minute planned.

Readers, have you ever detoxed before?  What did you do?

I could totally use this! I feel like I sort of started my detox on Sunday because I finally did some food prep! Workouts have been meh but I blame the IT band for that. Skipped my workout this morning but that’s because I woke up this morning with my legs feeling like they were on fire thanks to Insanity yesterday. I know, excuses excuses…I did exfoliate my face though. Maybe I’ll do a hair mask tonight!!!

Food prep is so important for detoxing! I think it’s ok to skip workouts if your body isn’t feeling up to it. That’s part of the detox process!

YES! my last few weeks of summer were all about eating out, having a few too many drinks, skipping workouts in order for more fun, social activities, etc. and while i dont regret a moment of it, september has been all about getting back in to healthy habits for me too. and i love that you included “face” as a detox catagory- i always break out after too much everything!

I love this! First, what are those skinny girl drink packets? I’ve never seen them! Do you mix them with anything besides water? Where do I buy them?!? So many questions ๐Ÿ™‚ Also, my skin is heinous right now with all the running and eating, so i will need to figure out something when this marathon is over. I’m going to be watching your skin detox very closely!

I got the Skinnygirls at this free Zumba event they were having over the summer. I’m not sure where you can get them in your area but if you go online to Skinnygirl Daily, they have a locator. I just use water (and lots of it because these babies are strong). I’m hoping that my skin is super happy after this detox!

I love spring rolls!! ๐Ÿ™‚ Sorry the salad wasn’t good.

I’m currently cleansing/detoxing too. I’m only doing it for 3 days though

I need to get myself in order and do the same. I’ve done detoxes before, but I always find it to be so tough. This seems realistic!

Yeah, I’m not trying to win any awards her for deprivation. I just want to focus on being healthy as opposed to cleansing or juicing or fasting or anything like that!

I don’t blame you for eating out so much. If I lived in the city, I would definitely take advantage of more time off cooking.
I like your idea to detox the whole body, inside and out. I need to take advice from you on the mind part. I think that’s the most important place to keep “clean” and mine is a little junkie right now. I’ve never done a detox before but I’d love to relax and detox my mind! ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m trying to think of this as like a Canyon-Ranch spa experience because I wish I could go there but don’t have the funds or the time off available!

What a great idea!! I love to detox and will do so for at least a couple days when I feel like I need it. I feel so much better even after just 2 days of focusing on my health and being really conscious of what I’m putting in my body.

This looks like a really great plan. The salad you mentioned seemed really good in theory but sad you didn’t like it! I love that you included skin as a part of the detox. This seems to be a great idea, when I think detox I think lemon water and lettuce. ๐Ÿ™‚ This one seems more manageable!

Definitely! I’m just trying to eat better, exercise and generally be healthy this week. I think maybe I’m not a fan of beets . . .

No detoxes here, ever! I just eat really healthfully all the time! No need for detoxing because of it! ๐Ÿ˜€

Those skinny drink mixes actually look pretty tasty though!

I haven’t detoxes before. I admire you jumping on the discipline train just based off that week last week. I have bad eating stretches often but maintain my workouts consistently. I’ll follow along. Found you on IG ๐Ÿ™‚

Yeah I basically just decided I wanted to really focus on being healthy this week after eating out so much last week. I guess you could call it a week of health rather than detox!
