Hi there! Hope you are having a stellar week thus far. We are up in the 80s and 90s again this week so it looks like fall is not making an appearance quite yet. Not to be deterred, I’m going full steam ahead with my detox plan! I also took some time to write down a few things I want to do this fall before the chill of winter sets in. I planned my 99 Days of Summer in the late spring and I have to say that it really kept me focused on making the absolute most of the season and not feeling like I “wasted” good weather or a great opportunity. So I decided to make it a tradition each season to list all of the things I want to do to celebrate that time of year. So won’t you join me as I not just Fall Into Fall but jump right in like it’s a big old pile of leaves!
Readers, what are you doing this fall!?
Now, on to my Detox! Day 2 was even more successful than Day 1 in my opinion and I’m happy to report things are going well. I am feeling good and am proud of my progress. I’m still looking to cut out some extraneous snacks (hello these lovely Macaroons that are sold directly across from my work-luckily they are now gone) but overall I’m happy with the detox. Here’s a little recap.
FOOD
I am making an effort to eat more “clean” this week, meaning less sugar and salt and more natural products. This breakfast that I had fit the bill perfectly. Plain non-fat Greek yogurt (It’s Fage. Not ready to jump back on the Chobani wagon just yet.with fresh blueberries and raspberries, some chia seeds and I added some raw almonds in when I got to work.
I was still hungry mid-morning so I toasted up a 100 calorie whole wheat sandwich thin and added some almond butter.
Lunch was the other half of my Vietnamese dinner from the previous night with a healthy dose of sriracha.
I washed everything down with this lovely concoction. Water infused with mint, lemon and raspberries. I got the idea from the Tone It Up site and I have to say it really forced me to drink more water than normal. Which is great because I’m not cutting out coffee (sorry, no can do).
Dinner consisted of this healthy chicken and broccoli stir fry with brown rice more sirarcha and some Thai sweet chili sauce.
I had a few other snacks including some veggies, a Kind bar and I may or may have not eaten an aforementioned macaroonโฆ. Work in progress.
WORKOUTS
I really don’t like getting up at 6 am but I do like getting my workouts over with so it’s six of one and half dozen of another. I’m working on a new YouTube video so I’ve been focusing on some choreography this week and taking a short break from Turbo Fire. I really want to stick with the Turbo Fire plan but in order to get this choreography done so I can film another video, something’s got to give. No matter, Zumba is a great workout and 40 minutes burned 400 calories!
SKIN
I bought this Oil of Olay electronic brush awhile back and I have to say that I really like it. I’ve never tried the Clarisonic version but it’s so expensive and I think this one does a pretty darn good job. My skin feels really smooth after I use it. I just used a small amount of Cetaphil on the brush while I was in the shower and voila, smooth skin!
MIND
I mentioned last week that September is National Yoga Month and Athleta paired up with YogaGlo to offer free online workouts. Well, Day 2’s mind exercise was to participate in their 30 minute Before Bed practice. It was 30 minutes of gentle stretching and relaxation. This practice really helped me unplug, unwind and generally relax before bed. After I crawled beneath the sheets, I was asleep within minutes. For someone who can have a hard time sleeping, this was amazing! Yay for Day 2 detox!
Readers, how do you avoid snacking? Have you been successful on a detox? Have you tried either the Clarisonic or Oil of Olay brush?

September 11, 2013Fun stuff you have planned there for the fall. I’m just ready for BBall season, I know I know…football just started….I’m trying to get I to it.
I need to follow you on YouTube and check out your choreography ma’am!

September 12, 2013I find that making a list, even a short one helps me stay focused and present. I know a lot of people think that is the opposite but I find when I try to live “spontaneously” I just don’t do anything! ๐

September 11, 2013Great plans for the fall! I think I’ll borrow your idea and make a list of things for me to do, too. Also, great job with the detox! I am doing the Advocare 24 day challenge, which is basically a detox too and I am feeling great so far!

September 12, 2013I find that fall is the best time for detoxing!

September 11, 2013I’m not the best at avoiding snacking. I’m usually (stress on usually!) pretty good about only eating when I’m hungry and thanks so my metabolism that means almost every 2 hours. I do try to surround myself with healthy snack options that way if it’s gonna happen it may as well be good for me!

September 12, 2013I think my issue is that I sometimes snack unnecessarily, which I should try and avoid!

September 11, 2013Those macaroons would be hard to resist! Luckily, I don’t have any store or food option close by at work so if I don’t bring something then I’m not snacking.
I still haven’t got around to trying the Athleta yoga videos yet but that bedtime routine sounds so nice. Especially if it put you right to sleep!

September 12, 2013It was a really great video and I noticed that my body really enjoyed the stretch!

September 11, 2013I almost bought the CVS version of the brush a few days ago. My face has been breaking out on a regular basis now…so I am always looking for a quick fix, lol

September 12, 2013I really like it. I don’t use it all the time because it would be too much but I like to throw it in there occasionally.

September 11, 2013So much stuff!!! I’m with you on the not giving up coffee – no way! That water looks a lot better then the bottle I have in front of me (which is still mostly full BTW) and no, I don’t avoid snacking but I try to be a very mindful snacker. As for workouts, I asked my hubs to wake-up with the kids this morning so I could do my long run before the 90 degrees hit and it was AMAZING! I have so much more energy in the morning and so wish I could get back to those early morning runs regularly!!

September 11, 2013I think snacking is ok but the problem is I think I snack more than I need to or at least consume more than I need to. So glad you had a chance to get in a good run! ๐

September 11, 2013Cetaphil and the electric face brush was my daily routine too! I had been using Cetaphil on my face for years but decided to make the switch to the Yes To products recently. I still use Cetaphil as a body wash. Good stuff!
FitBritt
September 11, 2013Do you like the Say Yes products? I’ve never tried them!
Jillienne @ ChasingRaspberries
September 13, 2013I really like the Yes To Blueberries face cream and the Yes To Tomatoes face scrub! Good stuff!
Jillienne @ ChasingRaspberries
September 13, 2013I just realized I said “good stuff” in both comments… I need to go back to school!
Tara
September 11, 2013Thanks for posting the infused water! It’s been on my to-do list forever and today I am going to put some in my Brita filter and start bringing it to school! I also have a Sur la Table cooking class coming up that I’m really looking forward to. ๐ Mine is based on pasta, I think they did the same event in NYC a few weeks ago.
PS: I have a Clarisonic and looove it. I must admit though, it is very experience but I got it at a bargain. The only thing is I lost the charger when I was moving and haven’t used it in over a year.
FitBritt
September 11, 2013Ohhh I can’t wait to hear about your cooking class. Pasta is my fav!

September 11, 2013I LOVE your Zumba Sneaks!! So cute!! I have a clarisonic but sadly it has been in my drawer for almost a month. At night I am just so exhausted, I wash my face the regular way. I need to go the extra mile! Thanks for the reminder ๐
FitBritt
September 11, 2013Thanks! They work really well in Zumba class. I use my brush in the shower because I am too exhausted at night as well!
