Hi everyone!  Hope you had a great weekend!  The Hubs and I had a fantastic weekend which included some beach time, working out, tennis and seeing my cousin’s little baby boy.  He is absolutely the most adorable thing I have ever seen in my life!  He was just so smiley and lovable and didn’t cry at all during lunch!

This week I’m linking up with Joi at RxFitnessLady for her Mini Blog challenge!  I’m excited to take part in what should be a really fun week!  Everyday there will be a different prompt and you’ll get my take on the prompt.  Today’s prompt is Confessions of a Blogger.  Well, here goes nothing.  My confessions:

1. Remember how last week I did a Seven Day Detox?  Well, it really turned out to be a Six Day Detox.  Weekend eats included a pumpkin spice muffin (not healthy), a lobster roll, steak and chicken with fruit salsa and sweet potatoes.  I topped it off with some really yummy s’more pies I found over at Iowa Girl Eats.  Confession: Even healthy eating bloggers fall off the wagon.

2.  I don’t always want to workout.  I know you may find this hard to believe with a blog full of workout ideas and motivation but there are days where I would gladly trade my sneakers in for some comfy PJs and a movie!

3.  I have a really difficult time coming up with my own recipes.  I seriously don’t know how the food bloggers do it!  I can’t think of creative, inspiring, mouthwatering recipes for the life of me.  I always take my inspiration from something I’ve seen in a magazine or online and then change around the recipe a little (usually to make it easier so I don’t have to buy as much stuff) and sh’bam, we’ve got a recipe!

4.  I eat dessert every night!  Seriously.  I just cannot give up a little something sweet after dinner.  I love my chocolate!

5.  I’ve said no, on more than one occasion, to invitations to go out for dinner or get drinks so I can stay home by myself on a Friday night and watch TV.  No joke.

6.  I hoard magazines.  Yes, I live in a one bedroom apartment.  Yes, I realize that I rarely read the magazines even a second time.  Yes, I still want to keep them.

7.  I subscribe to the Wall Street Journal.  My most read sections include: The Personal Journal, Greater New York and the one line blurbs on the front page.

8.  Sometimes when no one else is home, I turn on music and start singing and dancing.

9.  I hate the winter.  I could go skiing for four days and that would be enough winter for me for the entire year.  I could live with it being above 70 degrees at all times.

10.   I made another YouTube video for you this weekend.  Just know that I’m smiling on the outside but screaming on the inside.  My legs are so sore I can barely walk!  Here’s a preview!

Readers, what are your confessions?  What did you do this weekend?

I’m with you on the Chocolate thing and staying in on Friday nights alone. It’s the best way to end a long week and start a fun weekend ๐Ÿ™‚

I totally get the Friday night tireds, after working the entire week, Fridays nights are meant for sleep! I also don’t always want to workout and recipe makers are absolute geniuses to me! (including yourself!) When I met Gina from skinnytaste at last years fitbloggin and ALL I could do was tell her how amazing I thought she was. Good thing she is super humble and didn’t hold my crazy against me and we hung out for the rest of the night LOL

Just when I think I can’t love you more! HA!! #3 and #5 are the story of my life – I totally get it. And I love how you’re “smiling on the outside but screaming on the inside!” I’ve done that through more classes I’ve taught then I care to remember!! So glad you’re doing this challenge too. Can’t wait to read all your posts!

Love the photos! You know how thick Oprah’s magazine is right? Well I had three years worth before I said enough is enough. I hope you don’t have that many in volume. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that)

I am with you on staying in some nights to watch tv in my pjs….I do that quite often, but I am working on making myself go out and be more social.

      September 16, 2013

I try to be more social but then I get crabby when I don’t get everything done because I’m too busy being social. Dilemmas.

I guess because we talk about healthy eating and fitness a lot people assume we do it all the time! Definitely not…I suppose that’s my confession too!

Actually just this weekend a family member mentioned how it looked like I eat so healthy all the time and my husband chimed right in with the statement that you know when you don’t see any food on my blog it’s because I’m not being so healthy! Haha. So true.

Gorgeous pictures of you on the beach!!

And I always crave something sweet after dinner too!

It’s funny because I am actually quite social but I will TOTALLY turn down plans to stay in and watch tv with my family. I think the busier my schedule gets the more tempting just staying home sounds.
I hoard magazines too. I keep thinking that I will sit down and actually look through them but it hasn’t happened yet. The pile is getting high.
I wrote a post a few months back about not wanting to workout. I rarely am just itching to get to the gym. However, I know that if I want to see results and be healthy then I need to put in the time.

If someone out there is going to say they feel like going to workout EVERY SINGLE TIME, I will stop reading their blog! I didn’t feel like it today after working my 7 nights in a row but when I got ready to teach, those feelings evaporated. It’s just what we do. Thanks for linking up for the #MBC! Can’t wait to see the video!

I can relate to so many of these! I eat dessert every single night too. Life’s too short not to.
And I’m a magazine hoarder too. You never know when you might go back and find something interesting. ๐Ÿ˜‰

You look so pretty in your pink top on the beach! I’m excited for your video. I will pretend I am on the beach with you- I miss it so much!

I can totes relate to several of your confessions! I think my takeaway is that none of us are perfect and we just have to remember everything in moderation ๐Ÿ™‚ My confession is eating fast food on occasion – I could never give up McDonalds fries!

  • Melissa Burton
    September 16, 2013

Oh, I see why we like each other – the food, fitness and the staying in parts made me shake my head in agreement. However, I don’t come up with my own recipes. Instead, I obsess over websites and cookbooks and then go into analysis paralysis and then Jay winds up cooking.

I could never write my own recipes. It’s why even salad is better when someone else makes it.

    • FitBritt
      September 16, 2013

And you forgot your undying love for NYC! Another reason why we get along! ๐Ÿ™‚ I wish that would happen with my husband . . .

Looks like a gorgeous weekend (and can’t wait to see you workout video!). I’m totally with you on food bloggers – I have no idea how they do it! I was just thinking about this recently how I can barely feed myself these days let alone come up with something creative.

Ugh totally get the whole “stay at home on Friday night” thing!! I’d rather lay on the couch and watch movies with a glass of wine than spend tons of money stepping over drunk people at a bar and watch people make fools of themselves.

This is a hard question! I want to jump in on this blog challenge too…I love it. Anyway, confessions… hmm. I’d say right now my major confession is that I’ve given up both alcohol and coffee for almost 10 days on my Advocare 10 Day Cleanse and I currently can say with some certainty that I miss wine more than I miss coffee. Whoops!
