Hello all! Is your week off to a good start? Thank you all for your well wishes on yesterday’s post about my elbow. It’s been frustrating to have it injured for so long and I was so happy to get out and do some of the things I loved this weekend without it hurting! With that in mind, I decided to link up with the ladies over at Fit.Fun.Femme for Target Practice this week. Now that I’m healing I want to really focus on my goals. Here’s the deal:
And if you are confused about what Target Practice is, here is the info from Fit.Fun.Femme!
Welcome to Target Practice! For those new readers, this is where we share our list of fitness, health and life goals, keeping us accountable and helping to achieve our weekly aspirations. Every type A girl (that’s us!) loves a good list – we hope you do too!
The idea is that we set specific targets for the week and then do our best to achieve them. We call it Target Practice because we think it’s super important to set intentions and goals while recognizing that we all fail sometimes (even us Type As) and that’s OK.
We hope you will join us in posting YOUR Target Practice each week!
Health: I want to get back on the clean eating train. We ate a ton of seafood over the weekend but it was not always prepared as healthy as it could be. In addition, the cookies and cheese were not helpful. This week I’m going to try and eat a lot of vegetables, lean proteins and healthy whole grains. I really want to stick with this plan!!!
Fitness: Now that my elbow is healed I want to start lifting weights again. I have been slowly building up at physical therapy but this week I’m back at one of my favorite studios, Physique 57 for barre class!
Monday- Physique 57 Intermediate
Tuesday- Physique 57 Cardio
Wednesday-Physique 57 Intermediate
Thursday-Physique 57 Mat
Friday= Physique 57 Formula
Life: This is a big week. My sister-in-law is visiting with us (yay!) and we are leaving for California for 10 days on Saturday. All good stuff but it is also going go to be hectic until we leave. I really need to be focused on sleep because I’m going to be working out at 6:30 am, which means I have to leave my house by 6:10. I’m really bad at getting to bed early but I’m going to try and get some much needed shut eye.
Readers, what are your goals this week? How do you balance a hectic schedule- tell me all your secrets!

October 1, 2013yay for barre classes!! the key for me is to be super organized- if i know im going to have a crazy week, i have to basically plan everything out from workouts to well, everything, before my week begins so i dont even have to think about it. i just go with it. and if things pop up and plans need to change, to remind myself to roll with it 🙂

October 1, 2013Yay for California! I’m not sure what part you are visiting but I think the weather is great everywhere right now so it will be awesome.
Physique 57 looks like so much fun! I wish I had a studio close to me. The closest Barre studio is 30 minutes away so I can’t quite commit to that. Dying to try it though!

October 2, 2013Barre workouts are my favorite!! I have a lot of DVDs but the classes are the best. I’m going to be in Palm Springs, Laguna Beach and hopefully Yosemite as long as the government doesn’t remain shut down!

October 1, 2013Oooo I’ve heard such good things about Barre classes! You’ll have to update with how it went. Hope your elbow continuously starts to feel better! Injuries are the worst….sometimes you just feel so helpless. Great goals!

October 2, 2013I love this idea of target practice post! I am definitely type A and do this anyway like in my head. I will write them down now and try to check out some links for inspiration. Have fun on the trip!

October 2, 2013YAY! Love that you are Target Practicing with us! Your targets are wonderful by the way and I love all of your Physique 57 classes this week. You are a rock star, sister. Have a wonderful time in Cali – what part are you going to?
I have such a hard time going to sleep early, too, and I’m terrible at waking up early. Good luck – nothing like a workout to give you some motivation!
FitBritt
October 2, 2013Thanks Sara! I’m going to Palm Springs, Laguna Beach and hopefully Yosemite provided the government gets its act together!
