Hi all! Happy Wednesday. It never ceases to amaze me how quickly the week goes by! Lately I’ve found myself getting upset or annoyed about small things that in the grand scheme are really not that big of a deal. I realize that sometimes I let small negative things bring me down when they don’t have to. I used to be very unhappy about my job and it seeped into the rest of my life. Now that I have an awesome new job, I feel like I should just be happy all the time. But, we all know life is full of annoyances and inconveniences. In an effort to forget about these small things that don’t really impact my overall health, happiness and wellbeing, today I’m going to focus on Things I’m Loving Lately. These things really, truly make me smile.
1. Any and all things pumpkin. Pumpkin craze is in full swing and I’m soaking it all in. I recently found these pumpkin spice English muffins at a local Target. Oh man, they are so good. You don’t even need anything on them!
Plus, they go perfectly with my pumpkin coffee from Dunkin Donuts.
Every year I buy this pumpkin bread and pumpkin butter from Williams Sonoma. I absolutely love both. I’ll probably make the bread closer to Thanskgiving.
2. Fresh flowers. I love fresh flowers and these ones at my parents’ house this weekend were absolutely gorgeous. Something about fresh flowers just brightens the day!
3. Gluten-free desserts. I have no medical need to eat gluten-free but the gluten-free bakery that opened around the corner from my apartment was just calling my name. I have to say that I really enjoy the gluten-free treats because they are just so gooey and yummy.
4. Apples, apples and more apples. My cousin bought us a ton of fresh apples when they went apple picking. I love honeycrisp but they can be so expensive. We really lucked out that my cousin got us an ENTIRE bag!
Also, I bought this new apple butter and it is so delicious! Tis the season!
5. Stripes for fall! I broke out this shirt over the weekend and I forgot how much I love my stripes!
6. Stack Wines. These are the coolest things! They are single serve wines that stack on top of each other. Plus they are in shatterproof plastic containers making them perfect for picnics. The quality of the wine is pretty standard but it’s perfect for a day out with friends.

October 2, 2013so much pumpkin! The English muffins look the best! and I haven’t ever tried a gluten free bakery. The stripes are super cute!! I am loving the fact that we get an extra hour of sleep soon. Mama needs it 🙂

October 2, 2013You and I always seem to be talking about how we need more sleep! Lol! Someday soon let’s hope!

October 2, 2013I love this. Focusing on the positives in life is so important. Right now I’m loving my body and it’s ability to train for a marathon. I’m also loving the gorgeous Chicago weather bc I know it won’t last!! I’m also loving my new job too 😉
FitBritt
October 2, 2013I was wondering how your new job was going! Glad to hear you are liking it! 🙂

October 2, 2013Yes! So far, so good! I’m so happy to hear that you love your new job as well! It’s not always easy to find enjoyable jobs in our profession 🙂

October 2, 2013I buy the Pumpkin spiced bread from WS too! I knew we were soul mates. I have to try those english muffins – who knew Pepperidge Farm joined the pumpkin craze? How jealous am I that you have a gluten free shop “around the corner.” Not that I need gluten-fee but I have cows and corn “around the corner!”
Sara @ Fit.Fun.Femme
October 2, 2013Pumpkin Spice english muffins….I’m running to Target ASAP. I love all of your loves, too! Stripes and apple butter and those GORGEOUS pink roses. I can almost smell them. Happy Wednesday!
Joi @ Rx Fitness Lady
October 2, 2013Love the stripes! Never heard of or seen the stack wines! They look convenient. I’ll have to try those. I am loving these type of post. Just read one yesterday similar. I am going to jump on the bandwagon. It’s always good to throw positives out in the atmosphere!

October 2, 2013I really like pumpkin but sometimes it gets to be a bit much so I am trying to limit my intake!

October 2, 2013I’m sorry but I just don’t get the pumpkin allure. I love pumpkin seeds though! Right now, I’m loving the ability to be able to do so many fun things like go to #FitSocial and the CBGB movie premiere I went to last night.
I’m also looking forward to coming to NYC soon. BTW, if you’re coming West, we need to figure out if we’ll be in the same place at the same time!
FitBritt
October 2, 2013Yes! I don’t know if I’ll be in your area…I’m going to Palm Springs for a wedding then Laguna Beach and then (hopefully) Yosemite. I’m not going to be in L.A. at all. 🙁 I will, however, be around when you are here later this month!
Lauren @ Focused To Be Fit
October 2, 2013OMG – I need every single one of those pumpkin things!! YUM! I keep seeing the stackable wine – so cool! I need to find them in my area. 🙂

October 2, 2013I just noticed how many healthy living bloggers are lawyers! Very interesting. I am glad you are loving the new job! As far as the pumpkin english muffins go, that’s probably the best thing since sliced bread! (Corny! but I had to say it!)
FitBritt
October 2, 2013There are quite a few lawyers out there aren’t there! They are really good. I meant to grab some more this weekend but I ran out of time!
Sarah @ Making Thyme for Health
October 2, 2013I love your stripes too! You look adorable.
There are so many wonderful things in this post- the flowers, the apples, those treats! Man, that would be dangerous for me to have around the corner from my apartment. Good luck with that. 🙂
FitBritt
October 2, 2013Thanks Sarah! Yeah the shop is right near the grocery store too so it’s unavoidable!

October 2, 2013I am literally loving everything you’re loving. Does loving your blog count??? Also I recently discovered chocolate covered dried strawberries and I think there may be crack in them!
FitBritt
October 2, 2013Thanks Davida! 🙂 I’ve never had chocolate covered dried strawberries…I’ve only had fresh ones but dried sound amazing because they are portable! So dangerous.

October 2, 2013Everyone is excited for pumpkin but I am excited for apples! They are available year round in California (like most produce) but there’s nothing like fall apples! I really like the single serving wine idea, where did you get them from?
FitBritt
October 5, 2013I love apples too! I held off on pumpkin mania until October! I got the Stack Wines at my local liquor store but they have locations on their website.

October 2, 2013I understand how you feel. You think that this one thing is going to change everything but it only changes a small piece and the other stuff is still there. Ugh! But when you can focus on all the things you love it really helps. That striped top is adorable!
FitBritt
October 5, 2013Thanks Carla! Definitely agree about everything staying the same but it’s all about perspective and my problems really aren’t that big.

October 3, 2013I like that you’re focusing on the little things that make you happy in this post!
I also love fresh flowers, pumpkin and apples!! My hubby will eat like 3 apples a day so when I buy them, I hide half of them in the fridge and put the rest in the fruit basket. Apple portion control!! Ha.
FitBritt
October 5, 2013Haha! My hubby eats everything in site at home too. He has learned now though to only eat approved snacks. To be fair I’m home way more than he is so I often only buy just enough for breakfast/lunch/dinner/snack for me.

October 4, 2013Loving all the apple/pumpkin butter you have! SO good on anything and makes me feel like Fall is really here :).
Ahh honeycrisp apples… I still haven’t been able to find any at my local grocery store, and it’s driving me insane!
FitBritt

October 6, 2013Perhaps, you would consider then, the opportunity to pick your Honey Crisp next September in Westport, MA. It will be A Thing You Love–seaside small town, dotted with New England stone walls, vineyards, winery, brewery and apple orchards!
