Hi friends! We have finally made it to Friday! Do you have any fun plans for the weekend? The Hubs is FINALLY coming home from Mexico. I haven’t seen him since my birthday on Feb 17th. We don’t really have anything planned though. Welcome to this week’s edition of Friday’s Food & Fitness. Let’s dive right in.
I would like to say that this week I was prepared. I took all these photos with natural light in anticipation of this post! And some of the photos are of my meal prep. Nice!
I have been on a bit of a smoothie kick since we got back from Vieques where I had an avocado smoothie. It was so delicious that I decided to recreate it at home. The only problem was that I couldn’t remember what was in it so I improvised.
I also made this delicious smoothie that I would really classify more as a juice because there is not a lot to it.
For my bday, I got this amazing new water bottle that allows you to infuse your water. Stuff some mint in the center piece and then viola, mint water!
Oh, and I meal prepped all of this amazing stuff for the week!
Homemade hummus, kale chips, buffalo and salt & pepper cauliflower, fresh veggies. Lunch is served!
Great job this week Britt! I have tried that tropical juice combo before and it is simply addicting!! I totally want that water infusion bottle now, I would put all kindsa fruits in there! Enjoy your hubby’s return 🙂
Love all the smoothies! I’ve been having one at least once a day so I’m happy for the new recipes. So glad your husband is coming home. Mine is back tomorrow, but he’s only been gone a few days 🙂 I’m looking forward to a hibachi dinner tonight with my boys and the grandparents! Hooray for Friday!
Oh I still want to make it to Nellie’s class but I need some motivation that early on a Saturday! Next time you plan on going, let me know and I’ll try to go too!
Honestly they don’t store that great! I wouldn’t recommend keeping them more than a few days. But I may have also cooked them less than I usually do, I can’t remember!
I’ve never tried a barre class before, but I’d really like to! I was in ballet for a few years and I know how great it is for you. I don’t know if my city offers anything, but perhaps when I go to Toronto or New York!
I’m totally eyeing that avocado smoothie.. I’ve nevr used avocado in a smoothie but I’m curious about how it would taste like. Must be good, after all – it’s avocado! 🙂 Nice recipes dear! xo
I think I need one of those water bottles!! I drink lots of water but I would love infused water.
This weekend is jam-packed but we are supposed to have heavy snow so it may end up changing and that would be OK.
Sounds like a successful week to me! I’d like to give that avocado smoothie a try – I’ve never attempted putting avocado in a smoothie before, but I can imagine it would give it a really great, creamy texture.
I’m on a smoothie kick too! These both look really delicious. Must try! I love your water bottle too. I put tons of lemons in my water so this would be perfect. My pictures are terrible, but I’m not sure what to do about it. Maybe natural light is worth a try?
Ha, I love how you’re on a smoothie kick in the dead of winter! I think that you’ve got tropical fruit on your brain since your birthday trip! 😉 I’m an avocado eating machine, but I have yet to like it in desserts and never really put it in my smoothies. Maybe I should give it a try?!
I know! It’s crazy! But it is at least 90 degrees in my apartment on any given day! The avocado smoothie is good. Very creamy. Just make sure you have enough liquid so it is not too thick!

February 28, 2014I have an avocado in my fridge that I have been afraid to cut up… but a smoothie sounds like the perfect way to try it!
Great job with the workouts! This week I did my T25 and tomorrow I plan on going to Nellie’s class.

I’ve never pre-made kale chips…how do they store? Are they just are crispy a few days later?
I’m off to Cleveland again to see Dan – can’t wait! I bet you’re excited to see your hubby. 🙂

March 3, 2014It definitely has a great texture. The only issue is making sure there is enough liquid so it is not too thick.

March 3, 2014Natural light is the way to go! I find it really hard on weekdays but it really improves photo quality.

March 2, 2014All of your smoothies and drinks look so delish. I like avocado but I’ve not tried it in a smoothie yet. Great job on the food prep too!
You are such a hard worker. It shows!
