Hello all!  It is finally April!  That means one thing:  the Polar Vortex must die!  Warm weather is on its way and I cannot wait!  So to celebrate some warmer times, I’ve put together a list for an Awesome April!
1.)    Do a juice cleanse!  Now is the perfect time to lose a ton of weight by cleansing your body with some super powerful juices!

2.)    Spend an entire day binge watching tv series even if it is warm outside.

3.)    Start doing two a day workouts every day to lose any extra pounds before bikini season.

4.)    Try out a new diet pill!

5.)    Spend a fortune on clothes one size smaller than you are now so you have motivation to get bikini ready.


April Fools!  Just kidding guys, I would NEVER advocate for any of the above!  Here is my real Awesome April list.  Enjoy! 

1.)    Summer is 12 weeks away so I’m starting to get my tank top arms ready!  I always feel extra fit in the summer because the Hubs and I remain really active so I like to get ready now but amping up my workouts.

2.)    Start planning vacations now.  I love love love looking forward to all my summer plans so I’m slowly starting to plan out when I’m going to take time off, fun things to do on the weekends and basically how I can make it the best summer ever!

3.)    Stop and smell the roses.  Flowers should be blooming here sometime soon and it’s important to take the top to stop and admire them because they stick around for approximately one week before they are trampled on and dog peed on and well, end up looking like a very sad version of their former selves.  This year the Hubs and I are planning on visiting the New York Botanical Gardens for the first time and I can’t wait!

4.)     Spend time with loved ones.  Our two year (!) anniversary is coming up this month and the Hubs and I are excited to go out to dinner together.  Although he won’t be here on the actual day because of his work schedule, we have plans for the weekend.  Also, my parents will be hitting up the Big Apple later this month.  I’ve been told they will be fine and can take care of themselves but definitely worry about them when they are here.  Ha.

5.)      Explore your city.  Now that it’s not so cold out, it’s time to get out!  I have plants to see a Broadway show, which I’m psyched about!  I’m embarrassed to say that it has been years since we’ve seen a show on Broadway so we are overdue.  Other fun options?  Sightsee, visit a local museum or take a stroll through a local park.

6.)      Get outside.  I am taking every opportunity to get out and walk, play tennis, have a picnic and even take the bike out as the weather gets warmer.  Just being able to get outdoors is going to be such a huge improvement!

7.)      Consider planting a garden.  I’m taking the plunge and starting an indoor garden this year.  The supplies have been purchased and there is no turning back now.  Does anyone else want to test their green thumb with me?

    Hi Britt.. We were in NYC a couple of weeks ago and saw a couple of plays…saw my all time favorite Les Mis… but you MUST see Kinky Boots. It was the BEST. Right up there wiht Les Mis… and that’s a lot for me to say. I’ll be waiting for your review !!! Happy Anniversary early, Edyie

    That’s so exciting about your two year anniversary coming up. What do the two of you have planned? Seeing how we don’t really experience spring in April – our weather goes from basically summer to fall back to summer LOL. I am hoping we get to go see the biggest sand sculpture in the world on Friday though.

    Sounds like you are off to a great April. For me, I am choosing to go with Autism Awareness month. Although I am not dong something every day, I know today when I woke up, I donated a little and tomorrow I will be wearing blue.

    Hahahah! Love the April Fools joke. I re-read your first list twice… “I didn’t know Britt supported juice cleanses?” lol

    12 weeks until Summer makes me feel good! There is still more than enough time to tone it up a bit. ๐Ÿ™‚

    YAY for your anniversary and for Broadway shows! I LOVE going to shows. The women in my family and I love doing a girls’ day and seeing a Broadway show together!

    fantastic list!! I am SO planning out my vacations and staycations with the kids much earlier this year. I am planning everything weekend by weekend. I want to plant a garden and I have been doing extra pushups lately for those strapless dresses I have in mind!

    Your real list is great! It’s funny how when you live in a city you often don’t take advantage of their activities as much – for me, though, whenever I’m in NYC I cram in as many Broadway shows as possible!

    OmG Britt you totally had me fooled. I read the first one about the juice cleanse and I was like hmm…that doesn’t seem like something she’d advocate! Great lighthearted April Fools Joke! I am looking forward to my trip to DC at the end of the month with my girlfriends for the Nike Women’s Half Marathon! I hope to make my April awesome by lots of healthy food, getting in some great (fun) workouts, and spending time with friends!

    I’m so happy it’s April and I love all of your “real” April ideas! I was initially fooled by your first list, but was happy to see you were kidding! I was thinking you were so ambitious with the two a day workouts, lol!
