Cupcakes, the Circus and How to Get Rid of Cellulite with Bliss

This post is sponsored by Bliss.  As always, all opinions are 100% my own.

Hello friends!  Hope you had a fantastic weekend!  It is finally beginning to feel like its spring over here!  Yay!  I’m really hoping for a few degrees warmer so I can ditch my jacket but this is a good start.

I recently joined this website called How About We For Couples because I saw that they had a discount on this event I want to go to this month.  So I decided to sign up and in the process got a free date!  So on Saturday, the Hubs and I headed downtown to Butter Lane  for a secret cupcake tasting!  It’s called secret because technically the cupcakes are off-the-menu and not available to the general public.

The cupcake flavor of the day was tiramisu.  Oh my gosh they were so amazing!  They tasted like an actual tiramisu but with a cupcake twist.  And of course, since we were there, we got sucked in an purchased a few more! ๐Ÿ™‚

I mentioned in my Awesome April post that the Hubs and I were hitting up Broadway for the first time in years.  We saw Pippin on Saturday night and it was amazing!  I knew it was going to be up my alley because Bob Fosse directed the original Broadway production and contributed to the choreography.  I love everything Fosse and took as many workshops in that style that I could when I was younger.

The stage feats in this play were simply stunning.  I felt like I was at the circus with men on trapeze, women performing tricks in aerial silks, impressive tumbling and rhythmic gymnastics going on.

Of course the signing was great but the real excitement were the visual effects.  At one point two of the men held a woman by her wrists and ankles and proceeded to spin her like a jump rope while a third man jumped over her.  It was crazy and spectacular.  If you get the chance to see it, I highly recommend it!

Now that spring is just around the corner, I’m planning on amping up my fitness routine and getting ready for less sweaters and more skin!  I was so excited when representatives for Bliss reached out to me to about trying out a few of their products.  I love Bliss because every time I use one of their products, I feel like I’m being transported to a spa.  Plus, I truly believe healthy living means taking care of your mind, body and skin– the whole package!*

The first product I tried was Fat Girl Slim.  I had heard of this product before and with a catchy name like that, I was intrigued to find out more.  The Fat Girl Slim Lean Machine and Skin Firming Cream are used to help visibly reduce the appearance of cellulite on your skin.  Am I the only one that has Googled “How to Get Rid of Cellulite?”  It seems like no matter how much I workout, my skin doesn’t always want to cooperate!

Do you remember when Ramona and Sonia from The Real Housewives of New York went to this spa and had this cellulite procedure done?  Well, this system reminds me of that episode and I have to say both of those women are looking pretty good so what they are doing must be working and I want in at a lesser price!  In fact, the Lean Machine is based on Bliss Spas’ vacuum-assisted massage technology used for their in-house treatments.  So needless to say, I was excited to try this product out with shorts season right around the corner!

So what did I think?  I had my husband help me out with the body conturing system and at first we were laughing our heads off using this little machine.  It kind of was sucking at my skin.  But I have to say that after a few minuted I started to relax and it felt like I was getting a spa treatment.  I could picture myself lighting some candles, turning on the spa station on Pandora and using the Fat Girl Slim Lean Machine for a little spa indulgence.  It actually does not take that long so you could potentially do this everyday to get the best results and while I enjoyed making someone else do it to me, you definitely don’t need two people.  I’ve only been using the machine for a few days but I do feel like my skin is beginning to look firmer from regular care.

There is no way that either of these products are going to help you lose 20 lbs or look like you just stepped off the runway unless you are eating well and exercising regularly.  Bliss is completely up front about this disclaimer and you have to remember that what we are trying to achieve here is a smoother look based on caring for your skin.  To reduce the appearance of cellulite and loose skin, you need to exercise, eat well and take care of your body.  My no fail prep for spring this year is barre classes (the lower body workout in those classes is intense!), extra fruit and veg (no more cupcakes!) and using the Fat Girl Slim cream and machine to reduce cellulite. If you want more information on how this product works, I’ve included some of the information that came along with this package at the end of the post.

Readers, what’s the last play or musical you saw?  What’s your favorite cupcake flavor?  What do you think of the Fat Girl Slim product–is it something you would use at home?

Fat Girl Slim Lean Machine: How To Get Rid of Cellulite

Cellulite is caused when the bands of tissue that hold the subcutaneous layer of fat together start to break down, particularly in the areas of thighs and buttocks.  Circulation is impeded by buildup of excess fluids and fat cells, which protrude and create a dimpled appearance.

The Fat Girl Slim Lean Machine, in conjunction with the Fat Girl Slim Firming Cream, regular exercise and healthy eating, can help you achieve smoother and more toned looking skin and get rid of cellulite.  The vacuum-assisted massage helps increase circulation, which helps reduce the appearance of cellulite.  It can be used on thighs, buttocks, hips and stomach, anywhere you want to get rid of cellulite.  It is recommended to use the system once a day for 3 minutes per leg until you see visible results and then reduce to three times per week.

Those cupcakes look amazing! I made some double chocolate Stonewall Kitchen cupcakes this weekend to bring to a playdate. However, because the boys were insane, we had to leave early and I didn’t even get to eat one of my own cupcakes! So unfair!
The last play Mike and I went to see was Rock of Ages and we LOVED it! With all those visual effects, I’m sure I would love Pippin as well.

What! I can’t believe you didn’t get to eat any!!!! That is so sad! Rock of Ages is really popular! I’ve seen so many ads for it!

Interesting! I’ve done Velashape treatments before, which is the same type of this like Bliss, but in a spa. I saw a little difference, but nothing too crazy. It did make my skin feel softer though. ๐Ÿ™‚

I totally remember that episode of NYC housewives! They are one of my favorite ones actually. I seriously need that cellulite system. Between my injury and Mom’s surgery, I’m pretty sure I gain a few pounds. I’ve been working out, but not eating regularly and getting enough veggies.

It was pretty hilarious. Almost as hilarious as when I tried it out but I opted not to film it! ๐Ÿ™‚

Those cupcakes look so good!! I can’t wait to hear what you think after more time has passed. I’ve always seen the Bliss products, but never spent the money because I wasn’t sure if it’d work.

I’ve never seen a Broadway play but I went to the Hobbit at our local civic theater (3x actually) since my oldest son was in it.
Interesting product – it sort of reminds me of that machine from way back (you would have been a little girl) that you got on and it made your whole body shake (can’t remember the name). A lady I worked with when I was in college swore by that machine – very weird!

Oooh I want to try the cellulite zapper!! Same thing here — it seems that a healthy lifestyle is not enough for me to be bump free. Booo!

I have a few friends who have tried the How About We…service for online dating. I think it’s a neat idea! I’d totally try it out with my hubby too.

Awesome about the show being so good!! ๐Ÿ™‚

I get these cellulite bumps when I squeeze my booty but only on one side! So weird!

I am liking How About We more than I thought I would. I have to decide if I want to keep the membership or not!

Do you use it?? How do you like it? I need to decide if I want to keep my membership. I’ve been on a Broadway kick too! I really want to see Cabaret with Michelle Williams and the guy from the Good Wife.

Wow I’ve never heard of that product before but very intriguing! OMG a cupcake tasting?!?! Dear god that sounds like heaven!!! I have to say I love how active you and your husband are. It seems like you are ALWAYS trying out a new class, product, restaurant, or just doing something. You seem to really take advantage of where you live and I really admire that!
