I can’t believe it but I’m halfway through my pregnancy! How did that even happen? That means the Baby is going to be here in 4.5 months!!! Wait…that means the baby is going to be here in 4.5 months. Cue panic mode. Seriously, things have been going great and I’m excited to give you a little update on Baby B today!
All of our tests have been coming back a-okay so far and I’m happy with that! Baby B is about 14 oz and the length of a banana or 6 ½ inches.
Workouts: Going strong! I’ve recapped the best prenatal workouts so you can see what I’ve been up to but it’s mainly Zumba, barre, prenatal pilates, prenatal yoga and BodyPump.
Symptoms: No more morning sickness, no more itchy skin and no more insomnia! Woo hoo! Feeling good in the neighborhood! I still get way more tired than before I was pregnant. When I have to do something after work it’s kind of like…”You want me to do whaaaaat??? Does that involve sleeping?” Also, I am starting to get some edema meaning my feet are getting kind of swollen, which is a little gross.
Food Aversions: I’m doing better and even managed to eat some lobster, shrimp and crab. I just really hope my initial seafood aversion is temporary because I normally eat a lot of fish! I’ve also been able to eat more meat, which I was less than thrilled about my first trimester.
Food Cravings: I don’t really think I have a ton of cravings. Things will sound good to me and I’ll eat them but that seems pretty normal to me. I am eating a lot more than I normally do!
Maternity Clothes: Loving it! I’ve got a bunch of dresses that I’ve been wearing, which are super comfy. Check out my full line up here.
Stretch Marks: None that I’m aware of.
Sleep: Much better! I still wake up once per night usually and will toss and turn quite a bit but I am sleeping so much better than before.
Looking Forward To: The Hubs feeling his first kick. I can feel Baby B moving around now. It’s like tiny bubbles popping in my tummy. He seems to like fruit because whenever I eat that he gets excited. He also likes it when I lie on my side. Poor husband can’t feel it yet though because he is still a bit too small. I can’t wait until Baby B is big enough that Hubs can finally feel him. So exciting!
Baby Items Purchased: So.much.stuff. My mom came up to NYC and we went on a shopping frenzy!
Lots and lots and lots of clothes.
Plus, the other stuff I had for him.
That doesn’t sound like a lot but I’m running out of room fast! We also created our registries so I feel a little bit more organized about what we need to get, although the diaper situation is kind of overwhelming me at the moment.
Readers, any guesses on the final weight of the baby? I’ll give you a hint, it has a lot to do with the size of the parents and Pete and I were both in the 8lb range. Mommies, any tips on the diaper situation…there are so many brands, so many different options and so many sizes! Who do you think he’ll look like?
Love the Fedora!! That’ll be so adorable!! Our little one’s been so much more active when I lay on my side, too, especially after I eat banana & pb (my typical night snack). Your husband’s going to flip when he starts feeling him and can see those kicks from the outside; it’s the sweetest thing 🙂
Awww, I love these posts! You look fabulous too! I was in a baby store the other day and thought of you – shopping for newborn stuff is so fun. I may or may not be tempted to send you a quickie gift! lol
You look fab! And soon the hubs will be able to feel the baby kick (and maybe even see a foot or elbow moving about). This part of the pregnancy is always the best IMO. It sounds like you are feeling really well.
I always used Huggies. I just don’t like anything else and even though my daughter uses something else, I buy Huggies to have on hand at my house for the gkids. It seems that cloth diapers are easier now than when my kids were little. It may be something you want to think about.
WOOHOOOO for being halfway through your pregnancy! Sounds like you are doing great. My mom has always told me that she felt extreme fatigue with all of her pregnancies. At least it gives you a free pass to relax and sleep more while you have the chance though right!
Funny random thing: I just published a post on heated workouts and Googled “sweaty” for an image to throw into the post, and on the very first page was a picture of you! Every other person on the page was covered in sweat but you just looked cute! hahaha
