Hi there! It’s Friiiiiday! Yay! I love Fridays in the summer. Almost as much as I love Saturdays! I hope you have something amazing planned for this weekend!
Welcome to this week’s edition of Friday’s Food & Fitness!
I finally made it to my Wednesday farmer’s market recently and ended up with this beautiful display of deliciousness (not pictured-some amazing cherries!). Is it just me or is the produce from the farmer’s market like 1,000 times better than the supermarket? Look at those tomatoes! The ones from the supermarket are always hard or kind of grainy texture. Blech.
Oh and I saw this at the farmer’s market:
I thought it was hilarious. Apparently it’s a thing though.
Anyway, with my amazing finds I made up this Greek wrap adapted from Cooking Light. This is a photo of my deconstructed wrap.
Whole wheat tortilla, homemade hummus (better than any store brand!) and a mixture of burpless cucumber, cherry tomatoes, feta, chicken, herbs (oregano & mint), lemon and olive oil. Lunch and dinner for multiple days. Hooray!
I also made this veggies hash, also adapted from Cooking Light. Fingerling potatoes, onions, fresh herbs (rosemary, thyme, oregano), purple beans that turn green when you cook ’em, avocado squash, zucchini and tomato. Topped with an egg and some parmesan cheese. It was so much better than I even thought it would be! Loved it!
In case you missed my post on The Best Prenatal Fitness DVDs, you should check that out! 🙂
I took my own advice this week with a little Physique 57 Prenatal, some Zumba (my shoulders and neck are still sore from all that dancing!) and Fusion Fitness’s Fusion Bump DVD. I also made it to Bryant Park for free outdoor yoga!
I love Bryant Park Yoga and I try to do it every year at least once.
The classes are always amazing with teachers from YogaWorks.
Plus, Bryant Park Yoga sponsored by Athleta, one of my favorites!
Exciting news about our upcoming Levo League Networkout Event! Next Thursday, July 24th we are partnering with Equinox Bryant Park for a yoga class starting at 7:15pm. I’ve heard the new Bryant Park club is pretty awesome. Can’t wait to check it out! But the MOST exciting news is that after class we are treating all of our guests to *FREE* makeovers from Beautini by B.Lo. And these aren’t the five minute kind! Expect to get the full treatment in about 20 minutes along with some nibbles and champagne. As always everything is FREE! I hope to see you there on the 24th!
Readers, any fun workouts this week? When was the last time you had a makeover? Do you shop at a farmer’s market?

July 18, 2014Fresh, local veggies are the BEST! I’m super-grateful we opted for a CSA this year; it’s been really fun trying new things and, of course, tasty.

July 19, 2014Please, please, please fly to STL and make me the veggie hash. I may not think of anything else now for the rest of the day. Yum!
Not understanding the cucumber. I actually like the seed part.
We have a teacher from YogaWorks coming to STL next week. I haven’t signed up yet because Jason has a big doctors appointment on Thursday but if that goes well I hope that they still have enough room for me to go.
You’re looking so cute and happy with your baby bump!
Kayla
July 19, 2014I’ve always wanted to try an outdoor yoga class but just haven’t done it yet. I absolutely LOVE going to the farmer’s markets and Quinn loves looking at everything, too! It’s such a learning experience for her. Your belly is too cute!

July 20, 2014Outdoor yoga is the best ever (as I’ve said in my comments like a million times haha). Also, burpless cucumbers? Weirdest.

July 20, 2014Your recipes look great. I put rosemary and thyme in many many dishes. It grows well on our balcony.
What is avocado squash ? Did you notice a difference in those cucumbers ?
I made a great salad this week from Runner’s world…corn, tomatoes, feta, bacon, onion, avocado, with yogurt / lemon sauce. So good !
