Hello friends! Guess what!? Today My Own Balance turns two! I can’t believe I have a toddler on my hands.
Seriously though, when I started blogging in 2012 I had no idea what it really meant to have a blog. I just kind of saw a few other blogs and thought, “I can do that.” I had no idea the people I’d meet and how my content would evolve and grow. I had no clue the opportunities that this little space on the internet would open up for me. I started My Own Balance as a way to try to find more balance in my life, which I didn’t feel like I had a lot of working in a law firm. It was a way for me to focus on two things that I find really important: healthy living and enjoying life. Neither of which were supposed to be a priority to me at the time. Things have changed so much since when this blog started but one thing has stayed the same and that is my eternal gratefulness to you all for stopping by here to check out what’s going on!

And because this is fun for me… I like to recap my top posts as selected by my lovely readers:

Happy Blog Birthday!!!! Since starting my own, I’m always intrigued to read about the paths of more-seasoned bloggers. I’d say what makes me happy today is that our nursery-painting and crafting party was a hit last night; we got lots done, which makes life a little less-stressful for this mama 🙂 Enjoy celebrating!
HBD MOB!!!! Your beautiful self is making me happy today 🙂 Also hearing that other people made moves, whether it be starting a blog, changing jobs or making time to workout, to make themselves a happier person also makes me happy. Congrats on 2 amazing years!
Wow congratulations!! I just passed my one-year mark so I can’t even imagine the joy of knowing you’ve given so much to your blog and achieved so much in these two years. I truly enjoy reading your blog so I know I speak for many others when I say I can’t wait to see what the next year has in store! 🙂
Happy blogiversary, Britt!! I didn’t know about your career background but I think it’s awesome that you’re doing something that you enjoy!
What makes me happy today? Well, I enjoyed walking outside in the rain this morning. We’ve been dealing with a lot of heat in Seattle lately and today is the first time it rained in a while. It was nice to enjoy some fresh air instead of muggy air for once!
Happy Day to you!!!! Wow, two years? That is very, very cool. Sometimes (as you well know) it can be a struggle to get these posts up. The fact that you are thriving after two years is really something to celebrate. I hope you pick up at least one fabulous thing for YOURSELF at Athleta!! Thanks for the giveaway and I hope you celebrate this accomplishment!
What makes me happy is having family time together. My husband works so much that during the week we hardly see him. When he’s home for more than just a couple of hours in the evening, we have so much fun 🙂
Happy Blogiversary! I am coming up on mine this fall…#2 for me too! Very cool on your top posts…that’s always fun to look back on! And…the sun is making me happy today. Yesterday there was a lot of rain.
Excellent workout as always. It's challenging, fun and easily one of my favorite workouts!
Fantastic class! Great technique pointers. Always new exercises to challenge oneself!
I am excited to take classes with Brittany in person this summer! I have followed Brittany online for some time. I particularly like the Barre and Pilates workout videos. Her workout techniques reflect current thinking and best practices. She supports all levels of fitness. Definitely worth a try!
Brittany is the BEST. She is inspirational, motivational and innovative. No two classes are ever the same. I'm sad when the summer classes end, but I'm looking forward to checking out her online classes this fall and winter.
My wife and I decided to give Balance Barre Fitness a try and we were not disappointed. We thought the classes would be pretty easy but were surprised at how rigorous they were. The class was great for working on our coordination and core strength. I don't get to many ...
