Hi! How was your weekend? I hope you did something amazing! We had both a productive and relaxing weekend. We really needed to get some stuff done after being away for awhile but after so much fun in the sun it was a little ho hum to do lots of (necessary) cleaning. Although I did sort all of Baby B’s clothes by month and picked out his coming home outfit!! So excited!
If you saw my post on Friday, I let it out that we were in Greece for our babymoon (not that is was a secret since I’ve been Instagramming like crazy. PS Can we be friends?). We started out in Crete, which is the largest, most populated and southernmost of all the Greek Islands (I was promised I could see Africa from there but no dice). When the Hubs began traveling for work a lot over a year and a half ago we decided we wanted to do a big blowout trip with all the points he has racked up flying and staying in hotels. Once we found out Baby B was on the way, we knew we would want to make it a babymoon and so the search began for the perfect place. We considered Hawaii, Spain, Bora Bora (omg want to go there so bad but unfortunately the points didn’t work out) and finally ended up on Greece!
We stayed at the most gorgeous hotel: The Blue Palace, which is a Starwood Luxury Collection hotel.
Except for when we stayed at the Four Seasons on Lanai for our honeymoon, I think this was the nicest resort I have ever been to! Everything about the hotel was incredibly picturesque. Crete is quite hilly so the entire hotel was built into the hill meaning that you could go to the beach and then take an elevator car up to the restaurants and spa and then to some of the villas and then to the reception and pool and then to more villas. It was one of the most unique hotel layouts I’ve ever seen.
As you can see from the photo above, the beach is actually quite rocky. The Mediterranean is so calm that it doesn’t break down the rocks into sand.
But for that color water, I didn’t care! It was so clear you could see all the way to the bottom even when you were way off shore.
Our hotel room was out of this world! It was dual level overlooking the ocean with a private plunge pool.
I have to say that I spent most of the time lying around and swimming. Perfect for relaxation!
Although we did manage to do a couple of really fun things that I highly recommend!
Tennis. Obviously! Although I have to say this is probably the best tennis view I have ever had!
Watched the sunrise over the Mediterranean!
And enjoyed a nice breakfast afterwards.
Kayaking around the islands was so amazing! The sun was so strong we had to jump out and swim every once in awhile.
And someone went waterskiing for the first time! I just was the photographer in the boat. ๐
My favorite thing we did on the entire trip was take a traditional Greek boat out for a cruise, picnic and some snorkeling around the islands. Not only was the scenery totally amazing, the water was so blue, so clear and so warm. I honestly never wanted to leave. This is an absolute must do if you visit the Greek Islands! It was worth every single penny!
I think we ended up snorkeling for close to an hour because the water was just so amazing!
Although the resort was so amazing it would have been easy not to leave, we decided it was necessary to venture into the surrounding and towns and I’m so glad we did. They were so quaint and adorable! We visited Agios Nikolaos
And Plaka.
Phew! That was a long post for a whole bunch of sitting and relaxing! ๐

Those pictures are absolutely stunning.
We just came back from Myrtle Beach. Even though some places are gorgeous around Myrtle Beach, I’m not sure it quite compares to THAT…

My feet were pretty swollen on the flight. I propped them up as much as possible and wore compression socks but there is just no way around it They are pretty bad on a daily basis these days anyway. Once I got there they were so much better than normal though! All that swimming!
