Friday’s Food & Fitness: A Food Tour and Body Conceptions

Hi there! It’s my favorite day…Friiiiiday! Do you have any big plans for the weekend? Hope you have something amazing on the calendar! In case you missed it, tomorrow we are having a *free* Levo League event at barre3 in the West Village. It will be amazing! Check out the details here!

At work we are all divided into separate teams and each team has a budget to do one outing a year.  My team decided for our outing we wanted to go on a food tour so yesterday we showed up in the West Village for three hours of tasting while learning all about the local area!

It was actually really cool because even though I’ve been to the West Village many times, there was a ton of information I didn’t know like the history of wise-guys doing business at certain establishments, movies being filmed, and famous people living in $10 million town homes in the area.

Oh, and the food was pretty darn amazing!  We went to seven (!) places having everything from eggplant and mozzarella sandwiches to an Indian wrap thingie (that’s the official name) with mango lassi to pizza to tacos to macaroons.  Plus we spent the three hours walking around the West Village so we got a little exercise at the same time, which was great because the food was unbelievable and it was so hard not to wolf down everything!

This was such a great event even if you live in NYC, but if you don’t I highly recommend looking into it!  It’s a great way to learn about the city and eat some amazing food!

Last week we had an amazing Levo League event with BurnThis and Body Conceptions.  The event was held at LIghtBox, which is this amazing space that looked more like a dance party club than a fitness studio.  There were these images of the beach, nature, the dessert and so much more being projected onto the walls while we worked out.  In case you haven’t heard of Body Conceptions, you can check out my review here, but basically its this amazing cardio dance workout combined with strength.  You totally don’t have to be a dancer to do this workout because the moves are simple yet fun and effective.

In addition to the amazing class we had some complimentary watermelon water from WTRMLN  WTR(so good!) and free hair braiding by VIVE styling.  I was blown away by this event and I’m so pleased that the Levo workouts are taking off!

    An NYC food tour would be amazing! I just started my post-baby working out last Sunday, lifting again finally, and while it’s kicking my butt, being at it again feels so good!

      I can imagine! Things are beginning to feel really really hard for me! I’m looking forward to being able to exercise “on my own” again. Haha. Good for you for jumping right back in!

    Well let’s see, I’ve been running, swimming and cycling. Shocking!! HAHA I’ve never been on a food tour but I want to go on one right now! OMG that pizza looks amazing. Lucikly for me, I took your advice and ordered NatureBox. The first one came today and I was starving – it was perfect timing. So far I wolfed down some parmesan pretzels (delicious!) and a spicy nut mix (love!). I cannot wait to try the plantain chips and guacamole bites! I’m bringing them to Boston with me for a wedding… 🙂

    This is so freaking cool that I am not sure where to begin! I have not done a food tour, but that’s going to change. Sign me up for Toledo Tour, party of ONE!

    oh my gosh, the food tour sounds like so much fun!! I’ve been wanting to do a food tour so badly, but I feel like I need to find a veg friendly one otherwise it’ll be a lot of stuff I don’t eat ya know? I need to put that on my bucket list to do in the near future though!

      I actually did the tour as a vegetarian because they had cold cuts and stuff I couldn’t eat. It was still really awesome
