Two weeks. That’s how long until Baby B allegedly gets here. I use the word allegedly because at this point, the baby could come at any time! That actually kind of scares me. I like schedules and routines. It’s comforting for people to ask you how far along you are and to be able to say 7 months, as in I still have two full months left until this baby gets here. Now, I walk around feeling like a ticking time bomb. In fact, the Hubs and I were driving this weekend and all of a sudden we heard very very loud sirens behind us so we pulled into a different lane. We had to the let the NYPD bomb squad get through on their way to an emergency. NBD. Aside from the fear of a potential bomb somewhere, I kind of felt like it was after me! Chasing me down until this baby arrives safe and sound.
Despite the ticking time bomb feeling, I certainly haven’t secluded myself of from the rest of the world. I’m still trucking along with workout classes, work and trying to maintain some type of social life. I also recently put together this quick prenatal barre workout. It’s quick and uses only one piece of equipment– a resistance band, which I have found to be a great tool for strength and toning, especially during the later half of my pregnancy.

Readers, have you ever felt like a ticking time bomb? How would you feel if the bomb squad sped past you? Are you dressing up for Halloween tomorrow?
Good Morning–I completed your Barre video before I walked this morning (a beautiful morning by the way)! It is a good workout. Your side to side with the resistance band is absolutely form-perfect. So for Halloween I will not dress up this year–I do have history of playing jokes on family members–like leaving very scary masks in the shower so they get a frightening scare early in the morning — he he he, My Pretty!
YES – I feel like that! I’m due next Wednesday – less than a week – but yesterday at my 39 week appointment the midwife checked, um, downstairs, and said things are already progressing. Of course, signs of prelabor can last for days or weeks, so it may not mean anything, but this baby seems ready to vacate!
I know! It’s so unfair because you feel like something is happening but it is going at such a slow pace and there is no real way of knowing when the show will get on the road. Good luck for the next week and I hope things go on schedule for you! 🙂
I totally hear you on that feeling! I never went into labor the first time, so I feel like a first time mom all over again with the waiting game! The prenatal barre workout looks great, can’t wait to try it!
Soon enough you’ll be welcoming your precious baby into this world. What an exciting time for you & your family! Thanks for sharing this workout. Unfortunately I do not have any resistance bands, but if I did, I’d be all over this workout!
