A Quick Cardio Workout + A Giveaway

Hey friends!  How are you today?  Hopefully I have something that will brighten your day a bit!  

I’m a huge fan of using a heart rate monitor while working out.  The only time I don’t use one is during yoga (I believe yoga is a chance to unwind and focus on how you feel rather than the statistics of what you feel).  I love being able to gauge how hard I’m working and how many calories burned in one cardio session.  Even though I don’t count calories, it is good to know how hard I’ve pushed myself in a workout.

I find a heart rate monitor to be especially useful when I’m short on time and just need to get in a quick cardio workout.  I love using my own body weight and performing workouts in sets to get my heart rate up and torch some calories.  Today I’m sharing with you one of my favorite quick cardio workout combos!

    My favorite kind of cardio is a tie between cycling and running. I’m a die hard runner to the end! But my cycling classes are so much fun and really push me too 🙂

    My favorite quick workout is the 30 minute Physique 57 . . . and thanks for the quick cardio–exactly what I need in my repertoire!

    I used to do some of the quick 30 minute or less workouts on PBFinger/Julie’s site – those kicked my butt and helped a lot when I was studying abroad in Paris. But I’ve heard that burpees, pushups, squats and skaters are some of the best exercises you can do when you only have a short amount of time so I always go for those!

    my fave quick workouts are pretty similar, actually — usually involves squat jumps, burpees, push-ups, jumping jacks w/ weights, back-rows, abs, and skaters. love those things.

    OMG that HR monitor sounds AWESOME!!!! I don’t think I’ve ever been excited over a HR monitor until now. I love that it can “gauge” will power! What??? Very cool. Thanks for doing this!

    I love both quickie cardio workouts and heart rate monitors! I’d enter if I didn’t already own the Armour39 (as you know!) plus a Polar HRM 🙂

    PS – The last few weeks when I check on your blog, I’m half expecting it to not be updated because you’re in labor!!! Actually, knowing you, you probably have posts set up for when you first have the baby anyways because you’re awesome like that!

      I have a bunch of posts already pre-written. I haven’t had to do much new blogging lately but since this baby doesn’t want to seem to be on time I’ll probably run out by the time he gets here! 🙂

    I’m not a huge fan of cardio, so it has to be kind of disguised for me to do it haha. My favorite way to get my heart rate up is definitely with kettlebells!
