Hello! So the post I had planned for today didn’t work out. I had planned to introduce you to the newest little member of our family but . . . he decided not to show. I’m trying to stay patient but not helping my anxiety is the fact that every.single.person who had a due date around me (and even AFTER me!) have already had their babies. It’s frustrating to say the least. I want to meet the little guy! Plus, I’m crazy and I don’t want his birthday to be too close to Thanksgiving. More importantly I really really really do not want to be induced. I have a huge fear of Pitocin and do not want to take it at all but it is the only option if you have to be induced.
I’ve done everything to try and get this kid to want to come out. I even went to some voodoo shop to get this primrose oil and pregnancy tea, all to no avail. And did I mention my baby is huge? Yeah, all those other ladies had nice small 6-7 lb babies. My baby is definitely going to be over 8 lbs, maybe even 9 lbs. Pete looked at my belly the other night and said “Holy moly! You are so big baby! You are bigger than my head!” Thanks Pete. Exactly what a woman about to go into labor wants to hear. Sigh. All I can do is wait and hope that this extra time means he is going to be extra healthy and a really good sleeper (I think that is the trade off, right?).
I had three delicious meals from Plated this week. I didn’t bother taking any photos for aforementioned reasons. However, I have to say that if you are interested in trying one of these meals prep services, you should definitely give Plated a go. We had Mexican Lasagna (made with crispy tortillas, seasoned ground beef, jalapenos and cheese and layered in a baking pan-SO GOOD!), Caramelized Cauliflower Tagliatelle (an amazing fresh take on pesto with toasted hazelnuts and parsley plus the cauliflower) and Sweet Potato and Spinach Soup with Cheddar Toasts. Everything tasted great and you’ll just have to trust me that it looked equally as great! ๐
I did make this smoothie bowl that turned out pretty great. I wasn’t sure about the whole smoothie in a bowl concept. I mean how do you eat a smoothie with a spoon? But I have to say, I’m now a convert. This pumpkin smoothie bowl was delicious!
I’m still trying to stay active. Since I’ve been working from home the past two weeks, I take a 10 minute movement break to get myself off the couch and get some blood flowing. I’ve been alternating between 10 minute barre3 workouts and MyYogaWorks stretch workouts. I love being able to move just a little bit during the day.
I’ve also been walking a lot because my doctor said it was a good idea. It is not easy but I’m keeping on keeping on.

Readers, have you ever tried a smoothie bowl? What is something you’ve had to wait a long time for?

November 14, 2014I will try the seasonal-appealing Pumpkin Smoothie Bowl. My repertoire of ingredients, and knowledge thereof, does not however include Cacao nibs–what are they? ๐ You will deliver two to three days late. In any timeframe you and your little, growing family will be happy and healthy!
FitBritt
November 16, 2014Cacao nibs are the pure form of cocoa before it is processed to make chocolate. You can get them either at your local grocery store or online from a site like iHerb. This is an article on the benefits of raw cacao: http://healthyeating.sfgate.com/antioxidant-benefits-raw-cacao-3990.html

November 14, 2014Hang in there! Remember, time will go warp speed after this boy shows up, so try and savor it, just a little tiny bit. As far as waiting, all I’ve got is how long I had to wait for my iPhone 6 – 5 weeks!! I think it was worth it. Maybe.
GOOD LUCK!!!!
FitBritt
November 16, 2014Five weeks! That is crazy! I had to wait for awhile for mine to show but it actually ended up arriving earlier than they said it would.

November 14, 2014That smoothie bowl looks delicious! I would have never thought to put a smoothie in a bowl, but I need to try that ๐
FitBritt

November 14, 2014hold on mama! He will come in his own perfect time!! Keep walking! and spicy foods? I don’t know. I induced for both of mine so I can’t talk. ๐ Have a good weekend and enjoy these last few days!! I am SO excited to meet him too!
FitBritt
November 16, 2014Thanks Nellie. Did your inductions go well? I totally never thought that would be me. I just assumed I would go into labor on my own!
Lisa @ Lulus Big Adventure
November 14, 2014I can definitely imagine how anxious you must be to just get this done and meet your baby! Just curious – what’s your fear of Pitocin?
FitBritt
November 16, 2014I would prefer to labor on my own without the use of a drug. I also understand that the side effects can be unpleasant and I tend to always experience drug side effects. It’s not the end of the world but if given the option I wouldn’t choose it.

I’ve mentioned my love for smoothie bowls more than once, and I wouldn’t steer you wrong, right?? Told ya they’re yummy! The funny thing is, I’m literally eating a post-workout chocolate strawberry smoothie bowl as I type. Ha!

November 17, 2014Go get a pedicure and spring for an extra foot massage and have them concentrate on your heels. It’s the acupressure point for your uterus. It will be any day now!! It really is the hardest wait in the world, though.
