50 Questions You are DYING to the Know the Answer To

I feel like every day someone sends me an email asking me what I’m wearing or who I think is OTP or what my zodiac sign is.  So I decided to just put all your little minds at ease and answer these very pressing questions in one longish blog post.  Now don’t get too overwhelmed with excitement, there’s plenty to go around.  Also, a special thank you to Alison@WritingWishing, Christine@LoveLifeSurf and Melissa@TheValentineRD for originally posting these questions/answers that I’m stealing.  Hopefully there is a bit of humor in here to keep you occupied.

1. What are you wearing? Clothes? Ha. Is this a trick question? I can’t remember the last time I wore clothes.
2. Ever been in love? Yes. Twice! Once to the Hubs and once to the newest man in my life.
3. Ever had a terrible breakup? No
4. How tall are you? 5’2″
5. How much do you weigh? I’m pretty sure this is at the top of the list of things you should never ask a woman who has just given birth.
6. Any tattoos? Nope. Keep those needles away from me!
7. Any piercings? Well, yes…I have my ears doubled pierced. The first hole was done when I was a kid but they are so low in my ear that I want to let them close up and then get them re-done so I never wear earrings in them anymore. The second hole I did myself when I was in high school. They are really uneven. I wear tiny studs in them that I never take out. I used to have another earring in the top of my ear but I took that out. I also had a belly button ring that I never took out until I got an MRI last year on my foot. I took it out and it never went back in. Good thing since I got pregnant shortly thereafter.
8. OTP (one true pair, favorite fictional couple)? Hmmm…Amy and Nick from Gone Girl? Juuuuust kidding. They do kind of deserve each other though. The characters from the Notebook.
9. Favorite show? Scandal, How to Get Away with Murder, Grey’s, Modern Family, Parenthood and Homeland!
10. Favorite bands? I really like Mumford & Sons. I saw them a few years ago and they were pretty fantastic to watch!  I’m also a big fan of Foster the People.
11. Something you miss? Wine (full-disclosure: I started answering these questions before the birth so I’m hoping this one has changed). Sleep.
12. Favorite song? I change my favorite song like I change my underwear (which is frequently, I really like Recover from CHVRCHES.
13. How old are you? 31. I actually forgot this recently. I was at a fitness class and I was in the locker room. I chose locker 30 and I said to myself I’ll remember this because I’m 30. Then I said to myself, “Wait, am I 30? Hang on, I think I’m 31.”
14. Zodiac sign? Aquarius.
15. Quality you look for in a partner? Calmness. I’m kind of tightly wound so I need a little ying to my yang. I also like someone who is adventurous, likes to travel and loves food. Got any suggestions? Just kidding Pete-xoxo!
16. Favorite Quote? “There’s no crying in baseball.” From A League of Their Own. Ok, this is not the most poetic quote but I used to repeat this to myself over and over again when I was at my law firm and dealing with a difficult client/opposing counsel/partner/associate, etc. It kind of just reminds me that all of these things can’t really impact me in a way that truly matters and I need to just stay calm and deal as best I can.
17. Favorite actor? I don’t really have one. I like a lot of actors but it’s really more about the specific role for me than one particular actor.
18. Loud music or soft? Ummm…in between?
20. Where do you go when you’re sad? You know what, I haven’t felt truly sad in a long time. I’ve been upset, frustrated, etc…but not sad.
21. How long does it take you to shower? Pre-baby: 10 minutes unless I have to shave.
22. How long does it take you to get ready in the morning? On weekday mornings before work: An hour (although that includes watching the Today Show, making coffee, etc.) When I’m getting ready to go out for the evening: 45 minutes. When I’m at home: 10 minutes.
23. Ever been in a physical fight? No but with my stature, who would want to take me on?
24. Turn on? Thoughftulness.
25. Turn off? Rudeness.
26. The reason I started blogging? You can read the whole story here, but basically, I was working at a law firm and I felt like my life was supposed to revolve around work. I started reading some healthy living blogs and decided I wanted to start one too so I could place more focus on things that I really valued in life outside of work like family, fitness, healthy living, food, travel, etc.
27. Fear? Snakes. Ewwwwwww so gross!
28. Last thing that made you cry? Haha. Everything makes me cry these days.
29. Last time you said you loved someone? About two seconds ago.
30. Meaning behind the name of your blog? It goes back to the reason I started my blog, I really wanted to find more balance in my life that was consumed by work, long hours and things that I generally didn’t find very satisfying. The blog was about creating a space for myself to live what I view as a balanced lifestyle.
31. Last book you read? I’ve started a bunch of books that I really can’t get into. The last good book I read was The Fault in Our Stars.
32. The book you’re currently reading? The Happiest Baby on the Block.
33. Last show you watched? Probably something On Demand or TiVoed.
34. Last person you talked to? Pete
35. The relationship between you and the person you last texted? My mom.
36. Favorite food? Pasta!
37. Place you want to visit? Italy—I want to do a bike tour. Napa—I’m going for a friend’s wedding! Asia, the Maldives and Bora Bora—when I was a kid and I was being naughty my mother would say she was going to send me to Bora Bora, I wish I had wised up and said “yes please!”
38. Last place you were? Athens and Crete, Greece for our babymoon!
39. Do you have a crush? Um, hello…yes!
40. Last time you kissed someone? Two seconds ago.
41. Last time you were insulted? When I was pregnant.  People mean well but things don’t always come out very nice.  Safest thing to say is “You look great.”  Period.  Stop right there.  Nothing else.  Just keep repeating it.  I may look at you funny but it’s better than the alternative!
42. Favorite flavor of sweet? Chocolate or coconut or both!
43. What instruments do you play? I took piano lessons for seven years. It is debatable whether I could still play…
44. Favorite piece of jewelry? Well, my wedding rings are my favorite because of the meaning behind them but my favorite piece of non-precious jewelry is my Kendra Scott necklace. I got it from my in-laws for my last birthday and I just love it so much!

kendra scott
45. Last sport you played? Tennis. I love tennis! I can’t wait to get back to it.
46. Last song you sang? Oh, I don’t sing. You’re welcome.
47. Favorite chat up line? Does this mean pick up line? “Hey honey, the baby just spit up on me, can you get me a wet towel?” Who doesn’t fall for THAT!?
48. Have you ever used it? All.the.time.
49. Last time you hung out with anyone? Ahahahahahaha. You mean the non-diaper wearing crowd?
50. Who should answer these questions next? YOU! Especially if you have some good book recommendations!

Readers, what three questions would you answer from this list?

Haha, laughing at #47! Rudeness totally turns me off too.

And how awesome that you’ve never had a bad breakup! I had to kiss/date/dislike a few (read: like a dozen) frogs before meeting my prince 🙂

    Hi Britt–
#2–Ever in love. I actually have a new love to add to my list, CMB!
    #38–Last place I was. NYC !! I love NY !!!
#43–Play an instrument. I have also tried the piano. As a matter of fact, I have a beautiful, American-made, all wood and ivory Kimball piano which is no longer made. It is increasing in value. At some point, it needs to go home to the rightful owner who once played this piano and likely could again!

I’m 31 too! and I often forget and its quite disconcerting! I am ALSO an aquarius so that means that we were born days apart in 1983! I feel like I knew this already 🙂 I want to read Fault in Our Stars!
