A Great Workout Playlist + A Giveaway

Hi there!  If you’ve been here for awhile, you know that I’m a huge fan of classes.  While I can certainly hold my own on the old treadmill, I love the group fitness atmosphere.  One of the reasons?  I love the music!  There is something about hearing a great song that really gets me motivated.  When I do workout on my own, I try to recreate this atmosphere with an awesome playlist.  I have a ton of DVDs in my arsenal and I’ve noticed that more recently, DVD producers are offering a music free option, allowing you to set your own playlist.  I love this because the copyright laws for music totally stink and as a result we often end up with less than stellar musical motivation for our home DVDs, which leads to boredom and lack of motivation.  So I always like to have a great playlist ready to go for days when I’m going to pop in one of these DVDs or even if I am just planning on getting outside for a quick walk.  I created this cardio workout playlist to help keep me motivated and I thought I would share it with all of you.

    Oh it’s so true about music in classes….I love all the upbeat stuff that is played in barre classes too….keeps my mind off of my muscles burning !

    Solo training for me right now, in my living room, during the baby’s first nap of the day. This means working out at some point before 4-7 am. When I am able to resume going to the gym, I will still work out alone. I look working out near other people (I find the energy motivating), but not necessarily with others.

    I really like country music for when I’m jogging. I like to sing along in my head to keep me distracted. I’ll need to try your playlist though!

    i’ve been using the same running playlist for a long time, and just add and delete new/old songs every now and then. i def could use some new music — i’ll have to check some of these out, as there are a bunch i don’t know. my fave band to workout to these days is the 1975 — so dancey and catchy and so much fun!

    I don’t know if I have one favorite song. I love the oldies from Turbo Fire (Brick House, Push It…..).
    I’m pretty easy to please with music!

    Love me some good workout music! I’m a fan of Waves and A Sky Full of Stars. Right now my song obsession is Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud – totally NOT a workout song, unless it’s your cool down haha but I love it!

    So for the longest time, well, until like 3 days ago – I hated listening to music while working out, but these past few days – I have been doing it and I flipping LOVE IT!!! Puts like 2498932432 peps in my steps… ?? LOL!
