Hi there! How has your week been going? To be honest, I kind of forget what day of the week it is with this whole maternity leave thing. I’ve been lucky enough to have both my mother and my in-laws around so it just seems like one big party every day (and every night but that’s usually just a party with me and the babes!). I hope you’ve been following the Twelve Days of Fitness! Let’s commit to staying fit this holiday season! Don’t forget to follow along on Instagram and hashtag #12daysoffitness.
Let’s face it, although the holidays are magical, they can also be kind of stressful. Take a few minutes to grab some serenity with this yoga pose. Downward dog offers strength and stretch all in one simple move. Stretch out those tight hammies and calf muscles while strengthening those arm and shoulder muscles. For extra oomph, add in a few downward dog pushups!
Readers, how much time do you spend working on your serenity? Would you say you are flexible? What are your plans for the holidays?
I;m so happy to read that you’re surrounded by family and having a great time with your new baby boy! That is just how it should be.
I’m a huge fan of the downward dog and I’ve been doing them daily to help stretch out my hamstring. Love it!
Flexible hmmm . . . Yes & flexibility is easily lost for me unles I am consistent with a variety of moves & stretches. Will do the downward facing dog for sure for release of stress!

December 17, 2014Downward Dog is one of my favourite poses to stretch it all out (though I don’t enjoy having to hold it for a long time haha).
