Hey all! With the new year in full-swing it seems like everywhere I turn there is a new fitness or diet fad being released. There is one in particular I am really excited about!
I’ve talked before about the best online fitness classes. I think online fitness is really taking off and some of my favorite classes are now available online. In fact, I’ve even got my own online videos! Well, I’m super excited to tell you that one of my favorite NYC fitness studios is now offering online classes and they are *FREE* this month!!
You may remember Friday when I mentioned I had been to Chaise Fitness recently. Chaise opened a second studio up in my neck of the woods on the UES. Unfortunately I got pregnant not long after they opened their second studio and I didn’t really think it was the right prenatal class for me. But now that I’m back to my regular classes, I booked in a Chaise class right away!
Chaise Fitness is like pilates and dance amplified. It uses bungees that are attached from the ceiling and the pilates chair. Chaise offers a variety of classes including cardio and ballet bungee but their core class, the Reinvention Chair, has some cardio, glutes, arms and ab toning based on pilates, strength training and ballet. Personally I love the bungees because I always feel like I’m getting a great arm toning workout.
The last time I was in class the instructor mentioned their new online videos and I was immediately intrigued. I found a few minutes this week to give them a try and I was not disappointed.
Currently there are four videos available: ReinventChair, Reinvent Abs & Arms, Reinvent Legs & Butts and ReinventCardio. Each video lasts about 15-20 minutes. They are perfect if you are a busy mom like me and only have a few minutes, or you can put them together for a total body workout! I really loved the Cardio and Lets & Butt series. It really reminded me of class.
All you need for these videos are a medium resistance band, a chair and a mat. The resistance band simulates the bungees from class and the chair simulates the pilates chair (you only need the chair for one video). Give it a try since they are *FREE* for the month of January and let me know what you think!

Readers, what’s the best free workout you’ve ever tried? Are you a fan of pilates? How do you tone your arms?
I agree online workouts (or anything I can do from home) are optimal! I was surprised what an awesome workout resistance bands can provide. I used to think I had to lift weights to get any benefit but working against your own bodyweight is challenging!
This workout looks so fun, I finding new at home workouts to do! I’m signed up for a 3 month free trial of barre3 classes online. I have always liked the Tone it Up and Blogilates workouts that are free online.
The Chaise Fitness does sound fun and I will definitely give the online classes a try because how good is free?! Thanks for the reminder about Chaise Fitness and the tip to try it out online-Pilates is really good for me in so many ways and I have not been sticking to it lately–an opportunity awaits for me!
