Hi there! Here we are, Month 8. I feel like the days are flying by and my little tiny newborn has grown so much. Everyday is a new adventure and a new development! Here’s what is going on in Month 8!
The little man has SUCH a personality. He makes me crack up on a continuous basis!
Like, for instance, when he was in a basket. I mean really! His faces are hilarious and I love it when he all of a sudden makes a load primal noise in approval.
He has become such a water baby. I enrolled him in swim lessons and he LOVES it. The games are so fun and he splashes around in the pool happily going after toys. We are working on kicking and scooping the water. He also laughs like a crazy man when I put him in the shallow waves at the beach.
See more love for the water. It is so funny because he used to hate having a bath and now anytime he is near water it’s like “YAY!”
I was absolutely flabbergasted when we took him to the farm and he understood the concept of petting and touching the animals. He also thought hair pulling was acceptable but he does that to me so…it’s a work in progress.
He is such an active little boy, he is constantly crawling and pulling himself up and sitting and trying to stand. It’s like he just wants to move all.the.time!
Everything is about exploring and trying out his new skills. I hold out my hands and he pulls himself right up. Then I’ll grab his hands and “walk” him around. He mostly understands the concept until he picks up both his feet into a sitting position and just hangs there. I’m laughing at the image as I type this!
This little boy is really the light of my and the Hubs’ life. Not to mention his grandparents!
When I was about 9 months pregnant I honestly never thought I would hit pre-pregnancy ever again. But, this summer is totally kicking my butt! Between teaching, my own workouts and trying out new studios, I’ve pretty much made it back to my pre-pregnancy shape. The only thing that is still really different is my stomach. It just is a little . . . loose. I’m not sure it will ever change but for the most part I feel like I look good and I feel really strong. I think I need to do some more cardio to get my endurance back but on the overall, I would say I’m fit!
Readers, where does the time go? What do you have on your plate this week?

I wish I would have tracked my mind/body after baby in some form, just to see the progression. I gained 60lbs with my first, and I never thought I would see pre-pregnancy weight again. After my 3rd, I adopted a low-crap diet and I’m at my high school weight. Now the focus shifts to quality sleep, energy to chase them, and strength. Not the number on a pair of jeans.
In the moment, time may seem so real and vivid–time really transpires more rapidly each day until looking backward at time it is a video or thumbnail sequence of love and beauty. Enjoy every moment and look backward fondly.
oh he is ADORABLE!! And those faces he makes – what a cheeky sweetheart. You look fabulous mama and I’m so glad you’re feeling good. Random question – is your swimsuit Athleta? I think I have the same one!
