Mind/Body After Baby: Month 9

  • August 19, 2015
  • By Brittany

Hello hello!  So quick announcement!  Check out my sidebar over on the right hand side there and you can see my next LIVE streaming online class!  So you’ll see that my next class is tomorrow at 5pm and it is a pilates mat class.  That box will update regularly with my class dates and time and you can just click on the “Signup now” icon to sign up and join me!  And don’t forget that all of you lovely readers get a *FREE* month with the code STUDIOFREE (it includes live streaming classes!).

Ok, on to today’s topic…the BABY!

Ohhhhh Cooper, where do I even begin?  This past month has shown a lot of improvements.  He is such a crawler now!  I literally looked the other way and he was all the way down the hall in a totally different room in 2 seconds flat.  Gotta keep my eye on that one!

month 9 2

Eating has become his sole purpose in life.  Morning, noon and night, the kid loves to eat.  Eggs, meat, pasta, veggies, fruit.  You name it, he eats it.  So far the kid has had shrimp, lobster, pulled pork and fish and thinks they are all wonderful.  The only problem is once I start feeding him I literally cannot stop because he will scream.  I feel like this is how I should react to chocolate.

month 9 7

He is sleeping like a champ!  He hardly ever wakes up anymore and generally will go down at 7pm, wake up between 10pm-11pm for a feed and then sleep all the way to between 7-8am.  Everyone is happy about that!

Playtime is hilarious.  He loves banging things, crawling around, pulling himself up and generally causing a ruckus.  He taught him how to wave and he is finally catching on.  At first he just stares at us like “what on earth are you doing?”.  Then he starts flapping his hand like crazy.  It’s so funny!

month 9 4

He is super talkative and will just talk and talk and talk.  I find this especially hilarious in the car when he can’t see us and he is just back there talking away.  He loves conversing and does this really funny thing where he shakes his head back and forth in the “no” manner but he has no idea that is actually means no, he thinks he is just having a really cool conversation with you.  Beats me!

month 9

He is so adept at pulling himself up now and bangs his hands, practicing balance, so I know he is going to be walking by one year!  We practice with him all the time and it is so funny!

month 9 coops & dad

He is such a sweetie pie but also a total menace!  He knows exactly what you don’t want him to have and the first chance he gets, he goes straight for it!  I wouldn’t have it any other way.

month 9 5

His two tooth and prominent now and his smile is so endearing.  I just want to give him kisses all day long but he has made it clear that he doesn’t so much appreciate that.

month 9 r u kidding me?

He has also become a really great swimmer and just loves being in the water.  I really want to keep going with swimming with him so he can be comfortable in the water and we don’t have to worry so much about him not being able to swim.

Me…what is there to say really?  Well, for one thing, I wasn’t sure how I was going to find this whole stay-at-home mom thing but I really like the gig.  Mostly because I can concentrate on my work.  Haha.  Seriously though, I love blogging for all of you most days and even more fun is teaching.  I was so happy to be teaching this summer and even more happy to continue with my online videos and classes.  I 100% feel like there is never enough time in the day for everything that I want and need to get done, but I love my work.  I have so many ideas and I can’t wait to implement them all!  Hang on, Cooper is pulling at the wires on my computer while I type, gotta go stop him.

month 9 coops & mom

Where was I?  Oh yeah, the best part of my day though is taking time out to spend with Cooper and Pete.  I feel lucky that I have that ability.  The other day, Cooper and I headed out to lunch, just the two of us and I have to say that it was pretty special.

Readers, tell me what you have been doing lately?  What do you do for work and do you like it?  What is one thing you are thankful for you in your life?

Too cute! I definitely see so many similarities between Cooper and Danny! He really is so adorable! I love that he’s such a great eater! Our oldest was like that too and it was lots of fun to watch him experience and love all the food! I have to admit, I’m totally jealous of the sleep you’re getting. Maybe Cooper can teach Danny a trick or two there!

These are truly some great days for you and I’m so glad you’re enjoying them! I loved being at home with the boys and I will cry if I think too much about how my little buddies won’t be with me every moment of the day starting next week!!! Time flies.

I’m hoping to be able to take your class tomorrow! It’s on my calendar…

Nicely chronicled post! Love that little guy-he’s developing spot on! I, too, have moved on from one career to another and I like all that I do–consulting, speech therapy; and, last but not least, Pilates instruction. I am thankful for my t mentor in the latter. Of course, I am most thankful for my family (like Cooper, I’m thankful to eat all kinds of good food)!

I love this post, it seems like you and baby are doing so well!! He is seriously too cute, I love all of the pictures!

PS – I’m totally going to check out your online classes and do a live class once I’m back home and settled in with a more normal schedule!

he’s such a cutie!! i like certain aspects of my current job (the people, the work/life balance, the ability to blog/write at work when i have down time, the office space itself) but dislike the actual job itself (fail). something for which i’m thankful today: my health. and my friends. and my family. and new opportunities. okay, so a few somethings. 🙂

I love this recap. And Copper is SO beautiful.

Right now I’m really grateful for finding a partner in crime who is uber supportive of my business and aspirations in life.

Oh, your little Cooper is a DOLL! He’s growing up so fast! I wish my baby was a good eater; he’ll have moments when he eats pretty well, but then he won’t want to eat anything! Auuugh. I’m hoping it’s a stage. That’s so so neat you’re doing online streaming classes. So cool!

I’m glad you’re doing so well and enjoying being a SAHM! And 9 months is such a fun age when they’re starting to be so much more mobile – clearly you guys are having a blast! 🙂
