Hello hello! Hope you had an amazing long weekend! We were so excited to get out of São Paulo and head to the coast for the long weekend here. We spent Saturday through Monday at Juquehy, a beach town a couple hours east of the city.
It was actually a really cool drive from the city because one minute you are surrounded by urban high rises and the next you are looking at lush greenery that looks distinctly tropical.
We also passed a ton of industry on the way out. Talk about pollution. Ugh! But the beach itself was absolutely beautiful.
We stayed at The Beach Hotel Juquehy, which was right on the water and also had a beautiful heated pool. Thank goodness because it was rather rainy an at times a bit chilly over the weekend.
No matter! We went swimming anyway and Coops loved playing in the sand.
We also took several nice walks along the beach and just generally enjoyed relaxing.
While I would have much preferred a hot and sunny weekend, it ended up still being a lot of fun and so chill.
Hopefully next time we come back we will get some great weather!
Readers, how was your weekend? What do you do when the weather doesn’t cooperate? What is the most varied terrain you have traveled through?
It sounds like you had a relaxing weekend getaway – even though the weather wasn’t perfect. Sometimes Mother Nature has other plans right? 🙂
I always find it interesting how different surroundings can be driving around California. You can go from heavily populated city/burb areas to desolate farmland and hiking terrain within just a couple of minutes. It’s fun!
