Where does the time go? I can’t believe my baby is already 10 months old! I look at him and see more of a toddler than a baby. Who let this happen!?!
This past month has been full of fun developments. Cooper totally recognizes me as mama or muuuummy and dada. In the morning when he wants to get out of his crib or when he wants food, he will start “talking” and calling muuuuummy. I love it.
The little man finally learned how to clap and it is everything. He claps at all the things! I think it is his way of checking in that everything is good and we are having fun. He starts clapping and waits for my response and if I smile or start clapping back the whole thing escalates into a huge smile and lots of clapping.
He is also very keen on moving. He is crawling and pulling himself up everywhere!! His favorite thing is when I lie on the floor to do some ab work because he is on me in 2 seconds and starts climbing on my torso and putting his face in my face. Obviously ab time=fun playtime.
He also loves me chasing him around the house. Just the other night I started running in front of him and he would crawl towards me and I would run back and jump over him. He was laughing hysterically!
And walking is just around the corner. I bought him a push toy and he has started pulling himself up and walking with it. Loves it!
He loves all the food! Especially if it is something I am eating. I give him rice cereal for breakfast but you better believe that if I am having eggs or yogurt, he is having some as well. He is all about picking up food with his fingers and is even beginning to master a fork or spoon. We sit down and have a very civilized lunch together at the table. It’s pretty funny. But don’t get in the way of this kid’s food–one time he crawled he followed me out of the bedroom and crawled all the way to kitchen where he collapsed at my feet crying until I got him something to eat. And he can be so impatient! I put him in his high chair and if the food doesn’t come fast enough he face plants onto the tray. Haha!
The little guy is so into exploring. If I am not on him all the time, he opens up drawers, climbs right in and starts playing with whatever is in there. Hahaha! What!?! And don’t even get me started about when we have a suitcase out.
Oh and he started doing this weird thing where he gets really really excited and tenses up his hands and face and head and kind of goes ugggghhh! I have never seen anything like it! I have been trying to video it because it is hilarious but I can never get it. Is this normal? Pete and I joke that it looks like his head is about to pop off!
Me? I don’t even know what to say. I feel great. I think I look pretty good (not sure it is going to get better…). And we have found a good balance of playing together and also having time for myself. I have been working really hard at launching my online classes and I’m thankful the little guy allows me some time to work on this. I reward him by taking him swimming, which he LOVES!
This is what it takes to get the one shot:
Readers, what’s been happening with you? Moms, ever have a baby that makes a weird excited face? How do you balance family and work?
Cooper is a Dream-Boat! What a fun, funny little boy. Lucky you! Mom’s generally balance EVERYTHING by taking EVERYTHING out on themselves — always accept help and trust your instincts. It is worth it! As for the funny little faces–just one of many phases!
Awww – you two are too cute! My nephew used to do this weird thing where he would freeze with his hands in the air, face tilted to the side, and walk like a zombie. It used to scare me because I thought he was having a seizure, but then he would bust out laughing and walk normally. Weird. lol
so so so cute. I just adore these updates! I love the food face the most. SO handsome!! My eldest had a weird thing he used to do and we used to laugh and boy when it stopped we missed it SO much!! Now my youngest does the robot–THE ROBOT and we laugh so hard when he does it, but we know that’s gonna end soon too. 🙁 Enjoy every single second and try to commit as much as you can to memory!
