Hello and happy summer!!! It’s June 1st and summer has officially begun even if the solstice doesn’t mark the true beginning until later this month. Every summer I like to make a big bucket list full of items I want to tick off before those precious 99 days are over. But this summer, I’m creating a fully fitness focused bucket list. My Summer Fitness Bucket List is meant to inspire activity and use these warm long days for some healthy fun.
Open my Pop-up Studio and Crush It
Right now the words summer + fitness mean one thing to me: Balance Barre Fitness Summer Pop Up Studio on Cape Cod! I’m so excited to be returning for my second season on the Cape. If you are in the area, hit me up!
This one isn’t new to me but I’m not an expert by any means. This summer, I fully intend to head back out on the paddleboard for some SUP Yoga. And I may even get a bit of SUP Pilates in too!
Try Some New Fitness Classes
If you’ve been a blog reader for awhile, you know I love a good workout and even more than a good workout, I love a new workout. I want something that challenges me, something that is innovative and something that will keep me coming back for more. So I’m committing to finding a new class or new studio this summer and giving it a try!
Go For a Nice Long Bike Ride
One of the best ways to get outside and enjoy the summer weather is on a bike. While I definitely used to ride a lot more pre-baby, I’m committed to finding some time this summer to take out my trusty bicycle and go for a spin. And my spin, I mean a grueling, heart pumping ride.
Test Out a Fun Water Sport
In the summer there is pretty much one place you will find me, by the water. I love love love the beach and even more than the beach, I love water sports. Kayaking, SUP, sailing, jet skiing…any and all watersports. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to conquer a brand new one this year, but I’m going to try and do one that I haven’t done in awhile.
Take a Fitness Mini Vacation
What better way to spend a summer focused on fitness than to take a fitness mini vacation. Stay tuned for the full disclosure on where and what I’ll be doing!
Do Something Fun and Active with Baby
Oh this little guy. He is so so active. Nothing can stop him. This summer I want to include him in my activities to benefit both of us. I’m still deciding what exactly to do since he is still pretty young, but I know I’ll think of something.
Kayak and Picnic
I love kayaking and I love picnics. So, of course, a kayak with a picnic is the perfect combination. Bonus points if I can find a place to kayak to for our picnic.
Participate in a Fun Summer Fitness Instagram Challenge
Last year I hosted the Find Your Flexibility Instagram Challenge and it was so much fun. I’m thinking of maybe hosting another challenge or at the very least joining a challenge. My goal is to get most of the photos outside if I can. Who’s in?
So technically I don’t have to do anything more than sit on my duff as a spectator but I’m looking forward to spending a week in Rio for the Olympics. Recap to follow!
Love the summer but looking for something a bit more low-key (think drink lemonade, see a drive-in movie), check out my 99 Days of Summer Bucket Lists from the past years:
I love this Britt! It sounds like you have some awesome summer plans! I can’t wait to check out your Olympics posts. Adam & I love the Olympics and we get really into them! Also, it’s so cool that you’re doing the pop up studio again in Cape Cod. I also want to get on my bike a lot this summer and try some SUP yoga. Also, a mini fitness vacation is on my bucket list in general! I really would love do a healthy living retreat sometime.
