Hello hello! So I’ve been planning out my summer schedule and because I’m a bit of a crazy type A person, I’ve got myself pretty busy. I actually have to schedule in relaxation time! But I’ve definitely marked in “read at the beach” on my calendar for the summer. I have a hefty reading list for the summer but I love having options!
Me Before You– Jojo Moyes. Ok, in all honesty, I’ve already finished this one and am looking forward to discussing it in book club soon. But I had to include it on this list because I’m super excited to go see the movie!
Truly Madly Guilty– This one by Liane Moriarty is high on my list. I have read every single one of her books (favorites include The Husband’s Secret and Big Little Lies) and loved them all. I’ve been waiting for her next book and this one comes out on July 26.
The Run of His Life– Jeffrey Toobin. I loved the TV series The People versus OJ Simpson and now I’m determined to read the book that it was based on. Even though we all know how the story ends, it never gets less interesting.
Bossypants– This book by Tina Fey has been around forever so I know I’m super late to the party on this one but I finished Amy Poehler’s book and now I’m on a female comedian book kick. The best part, in my opinion, is actually being able to listen to this book on my phone being read by Tina Fey. Hilarious.
Toddlers are A**holes– Bunmi Laditan. This is obviously a tongue-in-cheek book and, to be honest, I already finished it. It’s short and pretty hilarious. If you are/were/plan to be a parent of a toddler, you should read this book. It makes all the “I want to cry moments” actually seem pretty funny!
Killer Ambition– Part of the Rachel Knight series by Marcia Clark, it is definitely not high brow but I like easy-to-read mysteries so this one has made the list!
The Royal We– Heather Cocks. This fictional book about a royal couple is supposedly based on Kate and Will. It’s gotten great reviews so I’m going to give it a go.
Where’d You Go Bernadette– Maria Semple. A successful and seemingly happy woman disappears. Her daughter goes through her emails and correspondence among other things to try and find her.
The Undomestic Goddess– Sophia Kinsella. An attorney who makes a career-costing mistake leaves her London home ending up in the middle of nowhere and takes a job as a housekeeper despite having no domestic skills.
Readers, what’s on your summer reading list? Are you the type that needs to schedule relaxation time?
Bunmi is my spirit animal. I am so proud of her and what she has done with her brand coming from Honest Toddler to her actual personality! I met her once and she really is the sweetest. Thank you for the list!!
I love this list! I’ve heard about that Toddlers are A’holes book before, I’m sure it’s pretty funny! The undomesfic goddess and where’d u go Bernadette are great reads! I’m cute early in the middle of What Alice Forgot!
