Hi! Happy Fourth of July! I hope you are enjoying a nice day of relaxing with some great food and greater friends and family! If you are heading to a cookout or have some unexpected guests suddenly popping by, I’ve got you covered with some burger recipes!
Burgers are traditional American fare, especially on the Fourth of July so I love serving them up, plus they are pretty easy to do. This year I elected to some sliders so I could do a bunch of different types of burgers.
All you need are a couple types of meat. I opted for turkey, lean sirloin and then a little bit fattier ground beef. And don’t forget to hunt down those slider buns!
I started out with a Mexican style burger. This one was so easy to do. I took the ground turkey and mixed in a packet of taco seasoning and added a little bit of spicy Mexican chili powder. I then formed small slider patties and cooked them on the grill for about 10 minutes, in the last 2 minutes I added a couple of different cheeses. I used pepperjack cheese on some of them and habanero cheese on the others.
These burgers can then be topped with guacamole (I used store-bought because it was easier) and salsa. Make sure you put all the condiments out on a big platter so people can pick and choose them!
Next up were these Caprese Burgers. A little Italian twist on the classic burger. For these burgers I used the slightly fattier ground beef and marinated the meat with balsamic vinegar. In the last two minutes of cooking I topped with fresh mozzarella cheese.
These burgers can be topped with tomatoes and fresh basil and a bit of balsamic vinegar.
Finally, we have the classic American sliders. For these burgers I used the leaner ground sirloin. In the last two minutes of cooking, I topped them with classic cheddar cheese.
These burgers can be topped with the classic toppings like lettuce, tomato, sliced onion and ketchup.
I served these burgers with a sides of sweet potato fries. My favorite and healthier than regular fries!
Readers, what are you eating for the fourth?
