I know we’ve already talked about the proper way to wash workout wear but I recently found a product that I swear by and I felt I needed to update you all! It all started when I recently shelled out a bit of cash to purchase some really cute Kate Spade and Beyond Yoga Activewear. The problem was that I felt like the clothes were getting a little bit eaten up by the wash. They were so soft when I bought them but I felt like they pilled a bit when I put them through the wash. I decided that I needed a high quality detergent made to get rid of the lovely smells of working out and the ick of the sweat without damaging the amazing fabrics or compromising the fabric technology. Sounds impossible, right?
Well, a little bit of research led me to Roux Maison. I immediately fell in love with their Sport Detergent.

Roux Maison’s Sport Detergent is specifically designed for workout wear, especially those Lululemon’s that are worth a lot of dollars! The detergent promises:
This is a big claim! I have to say that after using the product for several washes, I’ve been very pleased! My clothes are clean, bright and I feel like they are remaining in tact. I hate it so much when my clothes get all stretched out and don’t fit the way they did when I first bought them. I made the mistake once of getting my laundry done and fabric softener was used on my activewear. Fabric softener = death to activewear. Those clothes will never be the same. #majorfail
With the Roux Maison product, I never have to worry that my clothes are going to lose their integrity. I bought the Sport Detergent in Ambrosia and I love the way it smells! But it also comes in Fragrance Free and Sweet Tea.
In fact, I was so obsessed with the Roux Maison products that I also bought their products for Swimwear and Delicates. Both have been great! The Swimwear product is specifically developed for delicate dyes and and fabrics but gets rid of sunscreen, sweat and salt water. The Delicates product is perfect for dry cleaning clothes (wool, cashmere, silk), specialty fabrics and fine washables (hosiery, lingerie and shapewear). Although I didn’t purchase it, Roux Maison also has an Essential detergent that would be great if you have allergies, sensitive skin or a small child!
The only drawback to the detergent is that it is pretty expensive. However, you only need a really small amount for each load and so far I’ve had mine for two months and I’m still at the very top of all of my bottles! Needless to say, I’m a fan! Let me know if you use it and what you think!
