How to Workout in Just 10 Minutes

I’ve heard it a thousand times, “I just don’t have time to workout.”  These days we are scheduled in from the moment our alarms sound until our heads hit the pillow at night.  From work or school to kids or families to chores and fun activities, we never seem to have quite enough time to devote to everything we want to accomplish.  One of the first things people drop from their schedules is that dreaded time at the gym.

While you might not think you have the time to devote to your fitness, I’m here to tell you that you CAN!  All you need is 10 minutes a day.

I know you must be asking yourself if you can actually make any difference with just 10 minutes a day, but you can.  First of all, compared with doing nothing, you can absolutely make big differences by committing to doing something, even if it is just 10 minutes.

Plus, knowing that you only have to get through 10 minutes makes it so much easier to be consistent.  Maybe you’ll even start with 10 minutes and decide you want to work up to more!  Once you get going, you will probably feel great and want to push through.

So what can you do in 10 minutes?

Start with a warm-up for 3 minutes.  Walk or jog in place, do knee lifts, hamstring curls or repeater knees.  Maybe grab a jump rope (or an imaginary one) and jump it out.

Pick 4 strength moves.  Try a pushup, an abdominal crunch, a squat and a lunge.  Perform each of these moves for one minute.

Do intervals.  Perform your strength move for one minute then go to a cardio move for one minute.  Try doing jumping jacks, jogging in place, high knees, jump rope or seat kicks.  Repeat the strength/cardio intervals until you hit 10 minutes!

I totally think that you can make a difference in your mood, energy levels, and fitness in 10 minutes a day! For me, doing 10 minutes of yoga can make such a difference if I’m feeling sort of tight, achy and sleepy in the morning.

Intervals! I agree! Intervals are a good way to trick yourself into a good workout because the frequent change-up keeps my interest! I have done your 10 minute abs, seat blaster and tonesd arms. They are favs! Thanks!
