Hey BBF On Demand subscribers! A new workout, Pilates Stick, has dropped. This workout uses one of my absolute favorite pieces of at-home equipment, the pilates stick! I love this piece of equipment because you can get a great workout like you would in the pilates studio for a fraction of the cost. Plus, it is so versatile you can use it as a barre prop or a pilates prop. It really ups your game and challenges your core and your balance making your workout that much more challenging. And I never shy away from a challenge, right!?
This new Pilates Stick workout focuses on using the stick and straps like you would use a pilates tower machine. The entire workout is done on the mat so you don’t have to worry about transitioning between standing and sitting.
We start out with some abdominals using the stick. You will notice how the stick allows you to work those deep abdominal muscles. We will also sneak in a little upper body work! Expect to see some traditional mat moves like single leg stretch, scissors, rollover and more!
We then move onto some kneeling work to get the thighs, upper body and of course more core work! Then we head into a prone position to work the back and the glutes. We finish off the stick work with some creative ab and leg exercises.
Next we transition to our straps to work on some bridging and upper body movements. You will see some traditional pilates exercises like coordination, froggy and hundred prep. We’ll do some legs in straps series, which is one of my favorites!
We’ll do some side lying work as well with the straps around our thighs (think clamshell!) and some more upper body work.
We’ll finish with some side lying feet in straps.

I seriously love this class and all the creative things you can do with the pilates stick! You should definitely give it a try and let me know what you think!
