So have you ever felt your workout is just kind of blah? Have you lacked inspiration. Well, I’ll let you in on a little bit of a secret, I stay motivated for my workouts by creating awesome, blood-pumping, booty-shaking playlists!
Music has always moved me. As a dancer, music drives the choreography. So naturally when I am working out, music is just as important. I find that when I have good tunes I’m more energetic and more motivated to push a little bid harder or move a little bit longer. Some of my favorite fitness classes are based on motivational music (spinning, Zumba, etc). So when I workout at home I try to provide myself with tunes that will keep me going. I have four main playlists that I rely on for different types of workouts-cycling, cardio, dance and yoga. My cycling playlist has a mix of up tempo beats to get my RPMs up and slower songs with strong beats for climbing. My cardio playlist is a mix of happy, pop and dance songs that I just enjoy listening to and can get lost in during my cardio. My yoga playlist is divided into three parts: upbeat, soulful songs for powerful classes like vinyasa-slower songs perfect for stretching-beach sounds for relaxation and meditation. Finally, my dance playlist is a mix of all sorts of music, including house, pop, hip hop and latin, that is perfect for shaking my booty! Check out my cardio playlist below!
