So what did you do this weekend? The hubs and I were lucky enough to make the most of the three days. I hate how in the winter I never want to go outside and my activity level seems to plummet while my TV time seems to exponentially increase. Luckily, we put an end to that this weekend with a family ski weekend in New Hampshire! Skiing is a fantastic form of cardio and you wouldn’t believe the amount of calories you can burn even with downhill skiing (plus the calories you burn putting on all the ski gear and then trying to move around with the ski gear on!). After skiing all morning we worked up an appetite for lunch! It can be challenging finding healthy options for lunch at the ski slopes but I’ve found that most resorts have a chili option and I try to stick with that with a bit of cheese and tobasco on top. Its warm, filling and generally a better option than a greasy burger! Also, water is a must! You may not realize how hard you are working and how much you need the H2O!
And of course my favorite part of the day was the apres-ski fire and dinner! Nothing is better than relaxing your tired muscles fireside after a long day of skiing. Can I get a collective “Ahhhhhhh!”?
