Last week I had the opportunity to hit up Bryant Park Yoga hosted by Athleta. This free outdoor yoga class literally takes over Bryant Park’s lawn on Thursday evenings. Just like my Yoga in Times Square experience, Yoga in Bryant Park is one of those surreal moments where you are doing a collective downward dog with hundreds (maybe thousands?) of other yogis in the middle of a large city. Lying in sivasana looking up at a skyscraper is an experience not many people can say they’ve had and I count myself one of the lucky few! (Also, can we give a quick shout out to Athleta who is hosting a fab line up of outdoor classes, events and contests this summer?)
With all of the recent fitness events this summer like Yoga in Times Square, Classes at Hudson Pier 25, Wanderlust Festival , Bryant Park Yoga and much more, I’m declaring this the Summer of Fitness! Even if you have not attended any of these events this summer or are just doing your own thing, leave me a comment and tell me about your fitness goals this summer! Readers, what are you doing this summer for the Summer of Fitness? Tweet me using the hashtag #SummerofFitness and tell me what you are up to!
Speaking of the Summer of Fitness, I’ll be heading to Fitbloggin in literally a days time! I’m so excited to attend my first Fitbloggin conference! For those of you who don’t know, it’s a conference for bloggers interested in fitness, wellness, healthy eating and healthy living. I’m looking forward to meeting all the bloggers whose blogs I read and also some bloggers I don’t know. I’m also super excited to pick up some blogging tips! Also, I’ll be LIVEBLOGGING!!!!!! Whoot whoot! I’ll be Liveblogging for “How to Find the Perfect Shoe for You” presented by Reebok. I’m so excited for this session and to learn more about Reebok shoes. I currently have a pair of Reeboks but I’m in desperate need of a new pair! Plus, I want to learn more about their #LivewithFire motto!
I’m also pretty excited for some fitness classes like Zumba and Cardio Dance with Reebok. I’ll be sure to give you guys the full rundown of went on, who I saw and what I learned when I get back from Portland next week. Also, if you have any tips on exploring Portland or places to eat, leave me a comment! The hubs is coming on this trip (isn’t that sweet?) but he’ll be alone during the day so he needs a few suggestions!
