New and Notable: The Fitness Edition

Hi all!  It seems like lately I’ve been doing a ton of recaps on this, that and everything!  As a result, all these small details have been pushed aside and are patiently waiting for me to let them out!  Well, today is the day!  *Warning!* This is going to be a random post, so read on only if you dare!

Gratuitous flower photo to go with the randomness of this post!

FitBloggin

First up, I wanted to tie up some loose ends from FitBloggin!  Many of you read my recap (thanks!) but there were a few things I left out and I felt that I needed to mention them, so here goes!

First up, I wanted to thank Patricia Moreno of IntenSati for her awesome class.  It was full of powerful affirmations like “I am stronger than I think.”  I really appreciated her motivational approach to fitness.  I’ll be hitting her up this summer at Pier 25 as part of my #SummerofFitness (see below).

Second, I wanted to thank Sue from MrsFatass and Sam from Simplifying Sam for their awesome Zumba class.  Those ladies are the best and you cannot help but smile when they are on stage!

Sorry for the blurry photo!

Third, I wanted to thank the sponsors, especially Laughing Cow, Refuel Chocolate Milk, Reebok, SoyJoy and Blue Diamond for their general awesomeness!  I loved the swag but I loved meeting all you wonderful people more! 🙂

FiTCRAWL

Second, last week I told you guys all about FiTMAPPED and SELF Magazine’s FiTCRAWL.  This week is the first week!  Did you sign up and get a discounted class?!?!  I’ll be at Physique 57 this Thursday night pulsing and shaking!  Don’t forget to take advantage-you could win prizes!

Summer of Fitness

Third, I told you all that this summer is my Summer of Fitness!  I’ve been stand-up paddelboarding, practicing yoga in Times Square, kayaking and just generally staying as fit as possible.  Tonight was no exception when I hit up 305 Fitness at Pier 25 on the Hudson!

I recently went to Clay Health Club for their workout on the roof series.  The workout wasn’t bad but the zen rooftop was better.  Although I have a pretty nice rooftop myself so I’m thinking maybe I’ll venture up there for a workout!

What have you guys been up to for your Summer of Fitness?  Leave me a note in the comments and tell me what you are doing or Tweet, FB, Insta me with the hashtag #SummerofFitness!  I want to see photos of what you guys are doing!!!

Fit Food

Fourth, I’m trying to see how many titles I can create with the word “fit” in it! Haha!  Seriously though, after two weekends a row of eating out, I’m feeling like I need to get back on the right track.  I went slim on the grocery shopping this week.

Groceries

Last night I prepped an easy stir-fry with chicken and veggies.

I’m also trying to incorporate some fresh mint into my cooking.  I got a ton this weekend when I was at the Cape and I need some ideas for using it in dishes.  Readers, do you have any suggestions for what to do with fresh mint?

I’m also thinking of trying a Clean Eating Challenge.  I haven’t fully committed to the idea yet.  What do you guys think?  Have you ever done a clean eating challenge?  Can I do it?

Free Fitness

Now, I know I’ve been posting a lot about all the summer classes and events happening in NYC, but that doesn’t mean you can slack off if you live elsewhere!  I’ve got some totally *free!* workouts for you.  Just check out my YouTube channel, become a subscriber and you can have access to all my free videos.  If you head over there now, you might even get a glimpse of something I haven’t featured on the blog! 😉

Barre Class

Well, that’s all folks!  Leave me a comment and let me know:

1.) Did you got to FitBloggin?  What did you think?

2.) Are you participating in the FiTCRAWL?  Where are you heading?

3.) What are you doing for #SummerofFitness??

4.) Have you ever done a clean eating challenge?

5.) Do you have any recipes for fresh mint?

You have completely sold me on FitBloggin next year!!!

Your groceries look almost identical to mine lol! I have also been eating out 2 weekends in a row (plus this weekend is a family get-together for a birthday party to bring a healthy side to). I don’t know about the challenge, but I did the Whole 30 2 months ago and LOVED it! You could do it! 🙂

You should def go to Fitbloggin next year! It would be great to meet up with you! 🙂

I’m worried about flavoring my food. I wouldn’t want to lose things like soy sauce, etc. I am afraid I would fall off the wagon too quickly!
