Liebster Award! ~ Brittany Bendall Fitness

Hey there guys! Guess what!!? It must be award season because there are a ton of blogger awards flying around the web. Well, would you believe it but the lovely Paige at Fit Not Fad nominated me for the Liebster Award! I know! LIke the Sunshine Award, the Liebster Award is an award given by bloggers to other bloggers. This one recognizes bloggers with less than 200 followers as up and comers (aka, if you like it here, tell your friends! 😉 ). But in all seriousness, I was totally humbled and excited that Paige nominated me. In just one and a little bit year of blogging I feel like my life has changed dramatically so it’s always nice to know that someone recognizes something I find so dear.

So here are the rules:

After receiving the nomination, the blogger must:

1. Acknowledge the nominating blogger;

2. Share 11 random facts about yourself;

3. Answer 11 questions the nominating blogger has created for you;

4. List 11 bloggers who have less than 200 followers (as best as you can tell based on the info provided!). They should be bloggers that you believe deserve some recognition and a little blogging love!

5. Post 11 questions for the bloggers that you nominated to answer; and

6. Let all of the bloggers know that they’ve been nominated. You cannot nominate the blogger that nominated you.

So here we go!

11 Random Facts About Me!

1. Ever since I was a toddler I would fold my ears in when they were cold. My ears have surprisingly little cartilage! How’s that for random!

2. Speaking of ears, I have two piercings in each ear. The first hole I had done when I was about eight years old. The second one I did myself when I was in high school and they are not even!

3. I have nicer workout gear than work gear (i.e., the clothes I wear to work).

4. Up until I broke my elbow, I had basically no serious injuries EVER in my life!

5. My least favorite form of exercise is running but in high school I ran long distance track. And I lettered my freshman year. And I went to invitational meets. I still don’t enjoy it.

6. I want to go on the Amazing Race tv show like you wouldn’t believe! I would give my left arm (not literally because I haven’t been using it recently and it really stinks!)

7. I read the magazine Coastal Living religiously. Yes, I do know that I live on the island of Manhattan and that does not really count as “coastal living.”

8. I am really scared of snakes. I scream if I even see them on TV.

9. I’m only 5’2 but I can eat like someone twice my size! Nom, nom, nom.

10. In college I was in the sorority Kappa Alpha Theta. Coming from the northeast, not many people understand the concept of a sorority, or rather they don’t get the appeal. But Greek life was really big at my undergrad, University of Richmond.

11. I have a masters degree in Public Policy!

Questions Paige Asked Me!

1. If you could live anywhere other than where you are right now, where would you live?

Probably Sydney. The Hubs and I lived there before we moved to NYC and it is an amazing city!

2. What’s your guilty pleasure?

Wine and TV (~~and cheese~~).

3. What is one goal you have for your future?

I really want to make my own fitness DVD. Is that lame? I don’t care! For now you can see my videos on my YouTube channel!

4. What is your favorite recipe that you have posted on your blog? If you don’t post many recipes, what is your favorite post that you have written?

I’m really kind of loving the tropical tacos I just posted!

5. What is your favorite vacation spot?

Favorite vacation spot I’ve been to? Hawaii. Favorite vacation spot I want to go to? Either the Maldives or Bora Bora (or both!).

6. What is one of your favorite hobbies?

Cycling! I love biking… although it can be hazardous!

7. What is your greatest accomplishment to date?

Completing law school and being published: The Yearning for Zion Ranch Raid: Lowering the Standard of Proof for Termination of Parental Rights #nerd

8. What made you want to start a blog?

Well, that’s a long answer but basically it was to implement more balance into my life. You can read more about that here!

9. Chocolate or vanilla?

Psssshhhh. Chocolate.

10. What is your favorite book? (Or magazine, or blog to read, if you don’t read many books)

There are so many books I love! Here’s a list of a few!

11. How did you become interested in aspects of healthy living (fitness, healthy foods, running, etc)?

Well, I’ve really always been interested. I started dancing when I was five years old and from there I became interested in fitness, field hockey, training for field hockey, running track (see above) and then I began teaching classes and attending every new fitness class ever invented. It’s just a part of my life!

That’s pretty cool how you can do that with your ears. I just tried with mine but I’m assuming I have more cartilage. Greek life isn’t that big at my school either, it would be nice to bond with new friends though! Living in Australia and NYC doesn’t seem too shabby. 😉

Yeah I was a crazy 17 year old when I pierced my ears! It’s really difficult to live overseas logistically. It helps that Pete is from Sydney originally. It’s always nice to have family around, even if it’s not your immediate family.

You are fabulous and sometimes I think we are twins. I love that you want to do your own workout DVD – awesome goal…GO FOR IT! There is absolutely no question, chocolate over vanilla. I’m reading Gone Girl right now and I’m totally sucked in! Hawaii, specifically Maui, is my favorite place on earth. Hope you elbow is feeling better soon!

Thanks! Haha, I can’t believe I look tall in my videos but I always say that about other people who I know are short. I should have kept it under wraps and let people think I was taller! 🙂
