Now and Then

Hi all!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend.  I had an interesting experience on Friday night… It was just after 10pm and I was watching Hannibal on TV, which if you haven’t seen it, is based on the earlier version of the movie Hannibal (before he is caught).  This really scary scene came on where this figure was emerging out of the water and then all of sudden I heard this noise at my door.  It opened and I screamed as…

the Hubs walked in!  The Hubs was supposed to come home at 7am on Saturday morning after catching a red eye but his schedule changed and he surprised me by coming home on Friday night.  Obviously after I stopped screaming at him, I told him how happy I was to see him! 🙂

Recently Kimberly from Manifest Yourself tagged me in her Now & Then post.  I thought it was such a cool way to look back and see how your taste has changed so I am excited to play along.  I tried to make a cool graphic like she did, but mine didn’t turn out as good!

Now & Then (1)

I did a comparison of the me now and the me in 2004.  I can’t believe how quickly ten years has passed and part of me feels like things are exactly the same and part of me feels like things are so different!  In 2004 I was a junior in college, I was dancing 6 days a week in my college dance company and I jut met Pete.  Now, I am working out 6 days a week, a full-time lawyer and still with Pete!  One thing that has not changed is that I still love to dance!  It’s just now more Zumba than ballet.

Readers, how have you changed in the last ten years?  How would you answer a Now & Then post?  Have you ever been scared to death while watching a scary movie/tv show?

I need to do this post too. There is no way that I will ever get it to look as good as you or Kimberly have done.

I love Hannibal but there is NO WAY I can watch it without Mike being home!! He was also away on Friday night so it’s still on my DVR. If something like that happened to me while I was watching, I would have had a heart attack!! So glad you didn’t 🙂
Ten years doesn’t seem so long until you really think about it!! SO much has changed for me, not the least of which is twins!!!

First of all, you are crazy for watching hannibal on your own!!! Second, I love this idea and I may borrow it from you! I feel like my comparison to 10 years ago would be like comparing a different person…then again I was 14 at the time and had braces and a unibrow…

I totally can’t watch Hannibal, I would have be SO scared, I mean I jump out of my skin for normal things when scary shows are not even on TV 🙂 I love that your hubby was your crush ten years ago too! I can’t barely remember last week much less 10 years ago 🙂

I love your graphic! And I thought mine was terrible in comparison with the blogger who tagged me!

+ I didn’t know that you were a dancer… but now I totally see it. Your posture is great!

Oh my gosh, if I compared myself to 2004 me, it would be hilarious, mainly because I was 14 at the time haha. Even looking back on journal entries from 2010 is funny!

Also, kudos for being able to watch Hannibal by yourself – I would be way too terrified haha.

I refuse to watch scary movies on my own – no way!!! I love this comparison – 10 years ago for me I would’ve just been getting my drivers license, going to high school, working out, but not know what I was doing and dating a guy I am no longer with. So weird!

Awwww!! I feel like your hubby is always coming up with fun ways to surprise you. Love it!

I watch scary shows/movies on my own too and totally freak myself out and wonder why I do it…but then I keep doing it haha I’m also obsessed with murder mystery shows and Law & Order SVU, so I’m really asking for nightmares!

You are so lucky the Hannibal surprise was your Hubby!! I do not like scary movies as they make my mind go where it should not and my active, startle reflex go hyperactive! Nevertheless, your comparison of Then and Now is fun-I will do that, too!
