Hello there! Hope you had a nice weekend! I had the most amazing weekend! The Hubs came home from this week’s travel early Saturday morning. I was so happy I finally had someone to do my laundry! ๐ Just kidding.
Saturday morning I caught up with one of my favorite bloggers, Davida from The Healthy Maven. She was just as sweet and energetic in person as she is on her blog. It was so fun to grab coffee with her and chat about all things blogging. She used to live in NYC, so it was like a little homecoming!
After meeting up with Davida, I headed to Brooklyn for a master class at Xtend Barre with Andrea Rogers. Andrea is the creator and founder of Xtend Barre and her class was insanely challenging! I absolutely loved it. We did some amazing moves with an elastic workout band around our ankles (holy bun burn!) and a yoga strap (with the strap grounded on the bar, flat back chair squats while isolating biceps). I burned a whopping 560 calories in the class and really felt the burn! Andrea is so energetic! She is so petite but her presence radiates at a level someone twice her size. I love walking out of a class with a smile on my face and feeling like I can take on the day!

On Sunday, my friend invited me to a barre crawl at Physique 57 for St. Patrick’s Day. Not the kind of bar crawl that involves beer but the kind that involves plies and core work! We started out downtown with a mat class that is similar to a pilates class. I loved it because we got to lay down most of the class. But it was still hard and my abs and glutes were so sore by the end!
We then made our way to midtown for a mixed level barre class. This was by far the most challenging class of the day with lots of leg work and a healthy dose of cardio! I felt so good after it was done though because I knew the only thing I had left was the stretch class!
The barre crawl ended on the upper west side with a 30 minute stretch class that was the perfect balance of stretching and restorative poses. It felt so good after two barre classes!
And I was the lucky winner of the raffle prize! I got a Clarins gift card, which was so cool!
Of course by the time I got home I was starving so Pete and I indulged in these awesome Omaha Steaks with baked potatoes that I got from my aunt, uncle and cousins for birthday/Xmas! Oh my gosh, it was so amazingly good.
I also spent some time relaxing on the couch and catching up on some of my favorite TV shows. I’m totally hooked on The Following after Nicole mentioned that she likes that show. The Hubs and I are binge watching it. Well, he watches it and I cover my eyes and ask him what happens! ๐ Also, Scandal…holy moly!!!! All I can say is “whaaaaat!?”.
Readers, how was your weekend? Have you ever been on a barre crawl or a bar crawl? Have you ever tried Omaha Steaks?
