Oh hi! I’m so excited to give you all the details on Baby B’s shower today. I am probably the luckiest mama-to-be in the world because my mother threw me the most beautiful baby shower a girl could have. Plus, I had two very special guests attend my shower. My sister-in-law and mother-in-law flew in from Australia for the weekend to spend some time with us and attend my shower! Can you believe it!?! It was so nice to have them there!
I think the Hubs was pretty happy too!
We decided on a nautical baby shower theme, which is also the theme for our nursery. It fit so well with my parents’ beautiful house on Cape Cod. My mother and father, with the help of some of my awesome family like my brother, my other sister-in-law (his wife) and my cousins put on the most fabulous shower. Check out these details:
The mint was bundled together with ribbon and had directions on how to make mint iced tea on there!
An amazing menu of sandwiches, coleslaw, orzo pasta salad and Cape Cod potato chips satisfied all the hungry guests.
I got the chance to catch up with family and some of my good friends from high school, who had some great tips for me!
Everyone really embraced the nautical theme!
Our guests were way too generous with the presents and Baby B ended up with a lot of loot, including some fabulous nautical themed clothing!
One of my sister-in-laws made this wreath for me out of flowers. It was a nice nod to my Swedish heritage. I honestly don’t know how she did it! So cute!
Dessert was an amazing array of cupcakes and brownies. The cupcakes were beyond adorable and the sugar was enjoyed by mama and baby!
I felt so lucky to be celebrated by such amazing people and its amazing how loved Baby B is before he is even here! Thank you so much to Liz, Drew, Cat, Linda, Natalie, Katie, Susan, my mother and father for such a beautiful shower. And thanks to all my guests for spending their Sunday with me and showing Baby B so much love!
Readers, when was the last time you felt lucky? What’s the best thing you did this past weekend?
It looks like a wonderful baby shower! I love the nautical theme and those cupcakes are super adorable! My baby shower was this past Saturday. I just started going through pictures last night, so I can’t wait to share. It was definitely a great time!
First, you look absolutely beautiful and you are glowing in the most wonderful way. Second I am SO jelly of your outdoor beautiful weather filled shower! I had 2 winter babies so it was way too cold for that. Third, the details are seriously phenomenal, from the sandwiches to the cupcakes….fantastic!! I am so excited for you! The wreath is awesome so cute! And YAY to the inlaws coming all the way to the states just to celebrate with you, you are one lucky mama 🙂 The nautical theme is everything!!
Can you just tell how much I enjoyed every bit of this post?
oh my goodness!!! So so sweet. I love the nautical theme. I know that feeling of being SO grateful to have all the people you love around you. Embrace those moments because they are truly what life is about!
This is simply amazing! I cannot believe you had relatives fly in from Australia!!! That is truly fantastic. Your mom (and whoever else was responsible for the food, decorations and details) simply outdid themselves and are so, so talented! I’m so glad the day was gorgeous and you were able to celebrate. You look great and very happy!!! xoxoxo
Wow – everything about your shower is so awesome!! Love that you had couples – always more fun:)
So cool that your mother-in-law and sister-in-law flew in – did your husband know they were coming?
Love the theme!!!
Awwwww, there’s so much cuteness is this post! I love the nautical theme! Love your dress and flower wreath too. That’s amazing that your hubby’s family came in for the party!
What an absolutely beautiful shower!! Your parent’s house and yard are amazing. I’m so happy your mother-in-law and sis-in-law were able to come too. So nice! You look beautiful too and I LOVE your dress!
What wonderful family and friends you have! That is one beautiful shower.
Last time I felt lucky was this afternoon. I thought my cat had gotten out of the house – and he’s an indoor cat – so I was flipping out. After an hour of searching I found him under the guest room bed, in a shadow, so I’d missed him the first time I looked there.
awwww, sooooo glad you were showered with so much love, and how special to have his fam fly in from Australia! this just looks like the perfect shower all around. i’m obsesssssedddd with anything nautical as well, given that my parents live on a lake and that’s my haven in the world, so i loooove your theme. the decor looks awesome (and the little “knot” play on words is the cutest!). such a special, beautiful day. you look radiant.
